Hello, I'm looking to buy a .45 for the first time, and have been researching them a bit. Seems you can't really go wrong with the P220. Anyway, I've come across a used one, and had a question. The particular one I found is stainless and just has "STAINLESS" stamped on the slide....much like the "Elite Stainless" found on the sig website. However, it is not being advertised as an elite.

Was there a stainless P220 made at one time that was NOT an elite, or is it an elite?

Thanks!

Thanks! I was assuming that it was not an elite due to the fact it didn't have the long beaver tail, but didn't see the non-elite on their site....it could still be there and I missed it though....

$800...seems to be fairly heavily used though and has a couple of light scratches behind the ejector port that you can barely see in the picture. I'm no expert, but didn't think it was too bad of a deal with the CTC grip though.

SiG discontinued the standard stainless models in the past year. Now the only all-stainless models are "elite" with the beavertail grip and short reset trigger (SRT).

$800 would be high without the CT grips. If you really want those grips, it may be a good deal, but FWIW I have a set for my P226 and hardly ever use them.

IIRC, I paid $650 for my NIB 220ST (old rail) cuz the new rail model was coming out and no one wanted the Sig proprietary rail version anymore. Was never gonna mount a light on it anyways, so I bought it.

The gun is as tight as a freakin' bank vault and is every bit as accurate as my Les Baer (which cost more than twice the price). The only other Sig I've ever fired that approached it in terms of accuracy was an X-5.

I'm not a big fan of lasers, myself, so IMHO eight bills seems kinda high for the condition you describe. Great gun, though.

I've been on the hunt for a .45 and these p220s have been steering me away from all the 1911s i've been looking at

If i can find one used thats clean at a good price i'd jump on it
