Hello,
Im open to advice/ comments on getting my daughter started on junior 22.
Shes 9 and just started informal shoot with a cheap Savage 22 that left us a bad experience. I bought that as her learner rifle, and the trigger, fit, it is what it is-a trainer. I have to pick up add'l equip also. And so I ask how should I go forward with this situation-what rimfire should I get next? So many choices-CZ, Russian, and ann-Chutz!!.Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

The Anschutz Achiever is about 5 lbs., has an adjustable trigger and buttplate, a 19 inch barrel and can be fitted with a single shot adaptor. It's discontinued but can still be found.
The Anschutz Achiever ST or model 1451 (slight variation) is the next size up with the same action but with a bull barrel, target stock, hand rail and either single shot or repeater.
If you aren't talking about getting her started in sub-junior competition, another recommendation is a Marlin Buckaroo single shot. These are very accurate rifles that come with a very short stock, but are a little bit heavy for the smallest kids to shoot off hand. But they are solid, well built rifles and good for shooting off of the bench until they can hold it up for off hand shooting. Just check the trigger weight out of the box to make sure it isn't too heavy or creepy. They make very nice youth starter rifles and will even shoot shorts and CB's.

Nothing Fancy

Thanks for the reply. At this point I dont want to spoil the fun
for her; shes into me when I start to take things seriously.
Ill go look at what the local shops have, the club shoots
cutdown Marlins with aperture sights. I think the Buckaroo is close to the
Savage Cub we shoot. Again bad trigger and she shoots lefty too.
Any thoughts on the CM2s?
Best,
AC
