My friends and I formed a shooting club then or the next year or whenever. Our safety procedures were codified in general in the club constitution or whatever we called it. It stated the only exception to our cold range procedures was holstered sidearm worn by the range safety officer(s).
Knowing way back in '82 or '83 what the stresses of youth/college/love life/family dynamics/roommates/jobs and whatever could do to people, there was no way I was going to take a chance on someone popping their cork and shooting up the whole firing line.
