Posted here rather than in "Legal" because though it's a matter of legal significance, I suspect that rather more people will see it here when thinking about travel etc. Mods, feel free to move if you think best :)

Through a random search related to another post, I ran into this site: http://ccwhere.com/

An interactive, editable map where you can note whether businesses are pro- or anti-concealed carry. I really like the idea, thought I'd mention it here ;) The more people who add to it, the more useful such a site can be.

This will be good for telling the buisness your going to put them on it for all to see.
Can any body edit it at will?

Well, I can only say what places *aren't* CC friendly by the signs on the door. Otherwise there's no way I can know if they're friendly or not since...concealed means concealed. Right?

In other words I'm not about to go ask the owner if I'm allowed to CC there.

The information's going to be skewed toward the negative, I grant, but not universally. For instance, I know from reading comments that at least some of the people on THR are business owners, or have business owners in their immediate families: they might want to show that they're not opposed. Likewise, surely many people know that kind of information through social interaction with the relevant decision-makers.

So it'll be imperfect, but (I hope!) still useful that way.

Whoever is doing this, I strongly suggest sending a letter to each business letting them know they are on this list, explaining its purpose, while giving them the opportunity to change their policy thus getting removed from the list. All we really want is to change policy. I feel sending these letters is a common courtesy, will bring forth more positive effort and will produce a more accurate list. If this is going to be a coordinated effort with a lot of man hours lets try to make a difference and not just mock these companies.
