Iraq!!! Yeah!!!
Kel-tec 9mm, that the model I'm not sure of. I've fired it once, but with the sub-3in barrel that it has, the >10ft accuracy is horrible. It was a fun shooting pistol, but worthless past a certain point. He's quoted me $200 for the pistol if I ever want to buy it. Now, granted, I've got F-all for information, but would it be worth it for a plaything/wife's PDP? All a moot point, of course, until I get back from Iraq (and germany, where firearms laws are more retarded than the DNC), but I'm considering buying it from him.

I shot one of those Kel tecs before and felt it was light and had the recoil of an angry mule, but ok for CCW.

IMO, save your money and get something better.

i agree with wworker anouther $200 you can have a subcompact that you can hit what you aiming at i sug. a glock26 thats just because i own one and i'm happy with it.there are a few more to chose from that are good sub-compacts

I have to say that if you're having problems with a KelTec, it's probably the shooter not the gun. They are accurate, reliable and very easy to carry. It sounds like it's not compatible with you. Let your wife give it a try before you decide to buy - her results may be completely different.

KelTec makes two 9mm pistols - the PF-9 and the P-11. You can check them out, here: http://www.kel-tec-cnc.com/ The easiest way to tell the difference is magazine capacity. The flush-fitting mags for the PF-9 are 7 rounds and for the P-11 they are 10 rounds.

P11s have rotten triggers, and take alot of practice to hit with.:barf: Like 000buck said, another 200 and get the G26. Close to the same size, and much better trigger. Just my opinion, good belly gun however.

I have a P-11. It isn't the greatest pistol in my stable but when I know I'm going somewhere I cannot conceal carry I take my P-11. It will hit what I need it to hit and if someone breaks into my vehicle while I'm somewhere that serves alcohol I'm not out $900+ to replace my Kimber.

Oh yeah. As was said have your wife shoot it before you buy it for her. My girlfriend HATES the loooooooong, hard DA trigger on the P-11. I had to buy her a Sig P225.

I have a P11 as well. Very decent firepower for the size and mine's been reliable, but I hardly ever shoot it. I never carry it. It has the absolutely WORST trigger I've ever used on any firearm anywhere. Very long and HEAVY! I shoot it well enough and could probably be better with it, but with that trigger it sees more safe time than anything else. I have better carry options anyway.

On a side note, this looks interesting. A movie with a hard chromed P11 as a murder weapon. :D

That's about the only thing going for it. With that rough machining, poor plastic sights (I could move the rear with just finger pressure) and that TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE trigger, capacity versus size/weight is the ONLY thing going for the P11.

Part of the accuracy issue is that I'm trained to fire/used to firing M4s. I've only fired one other 9mm, a M9, in Kuwait, and I was horrible with that as well. In fact, if I use the sights, I'm horrible with every pistol I've shot.

From last March:

"CCL renewal Sunday

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I finally got with the instructor to do the renewal for my CCL Sunday. This time, I decided to use the P11 (took the Combat Commander along for insurance). I haven't shot the P11 in 1 1/2 years. I did the "fluff & buff" on it after shooting it when I first got it, and have lubed with MiliTec 1 following the warming procedure. The little gun shot well when I bought it, but now, it shoots like a house on fire. After qualifying, the instructor and I played around with it for a couple more boxes, and it just eats them up. All shots from 3 and 5 yd ranges were in a ragged hole about 3 1/2" O.D. From 15 yd, they were no more than 2" outside that except for 2 4's because I got in a hurry. Even the instructor was impressed (a gunsmith) who said he'd never fired or messed with KelTec's before (except a P40 that he did not like). With the fluff and buff and the MiliTec job, it even ejected and rechambered from a very loose wrist hold we tried out of curiosity. I definately feel secure with the gun, and will carry it more and leave the P32 home some even though I know it's trustworthy. The yellow box UMC 115 gr. seemed pretty hot too."
