This style of 1911 seems to baffle me. This double trigger mechanism on the gun really confuses me, and I think the gun is broken since it is firing the casing and all.

:banghead: Did they have a monkey make this image? Was there really a need to photoshop a lever style trigger IN FRONT of the actual trigger? *edit* The slide release and safety are on the wrong side too. Damn this ignorant anti-gun town I live in.

The extra trigger diddn't do any good. The hammer is still back, and they are still losing live rounds somehow.

And the GI thumb safety is on the wrong side.

The safety is on the wrong side because they mirrored the image to have it point the direction they wanted (you can't tell by the scanned image, but the lettering on the side of the slide is backward).

No, the thumb safety is on the correct side (look at the slide release lever and mag release button).

But I gotta get some of those rocket-propelled cartridges. And double trigger pistols. With extra-high ROF and no blowback.

I'm confused. You said, "look at the slide release lever and mag release button," but they are both on the right side of the gun instead of the left.

The article basically stated that there is a 1 in 1000 chance of a school shooting happening here, our security is pretty good, and we should not be alarmed. I'm sure that is what NIU and VT thought as well. "It'll never happen here."

WOW. that is one of the worst photoshop projects I have seen. Why did someone feel the need to add another trigger? did they not see that it already has one? I can overlook the mirror image, but the lack of comprehension of projectiles is amazing?

who can we contact to comment?

Are you going to bitch to us about it, or are you going to do something?

Send a POLITE note to the newspaper.

1) They really need to hire a better photochopper.

2) Explain that the problem isn't guns on campus - it's nutjobs on campus.

3) Suggest that they look at areas where concealed carry is permitted, and at mass shootings that have been prevented or truncated by armed citizens.

4) Ask them if they know what police response time is for an incident.

Also, might not hurt to offer your services as a subject matter expert. Or heck, tell them that they can contact me. Because that's one screwed up graphic.

I think the point is (by making the assumption that it is an anti-gun piece) that most folks who are anti-gun do not know anything about guns.

Guns have got to have triggers, right? Where's the trigger on this one? Maybe we should put one in.

:evil:Might be the next effort of the AWB-folks: Add a section that makes sure triggers are "visible" and identifiable as such --otherwise, you wouldn't know it's a gun.

Sure would be tough to stick a finger in that guard without setting the darned thing off right away. Would that be "negligent" or "accidental?"

Somebody ought to invite this young lady out to the range... Kansans?

If you look at the writing on the slide, it is also backwards. They used a "mirror" image.

ahh, the old 'flopping' or 'flipping' images. when I went to Fort Meade for my eight months of Visual Information AIT, one of the things that was pounded into our heads time and again was that flopping will lose us our reputations, and almost certainly our jobs. too bad civilian journalism has no ethical standards whatsoever.

That's one of those .88 magnum Glock machine guns that the Brady Campaign has warned us about. Also, those are cop killer bullets manufactured by the NRA and distributed 'on the street' by their agents. The bullets aren't micro-stamped so they can change directions in mid-air and can shoot through schools.

The assault rifle that you see pictured there is pump action, lever action, fully automatic, finger-print proof and is invisible to metal detectors because it's made out of ceramic.

I want to get some of them rocket bullets. Man them look cool.

Are people really this darn stupid? I mean they can run photoshop yet they can not read what is printed on the side of the gun? +1 for another child the US public school system failed.

IMHO The lack of knowledge in projectles, the mirrored image of a gun with a photoshopped trigger (to apear more dangerous I guess) is a direct reflection on the article

Little do you know that there's a Gecko 45. Double stack, double trigger, double tap 1911 with ambi slide release, magazine release and safety. fires 5.7 rocket projectiles that can defeat two armor plates duct taped together. By pulling the first trigger completely rearward you activate the second trigger thus releasing the double tap fury of this pistol. Availabe only to specialized shopping center security fast reaction teams. The markings on the slide are reversed so you can still read them while posing in the mirror of the mens room with your buddies.:neener:
