Bought a Kimber Stainless Target II and have been hooked on 1911's ever since. :) After buying used guns,it was pretty cool to get one new-in-the-box with the tags still on it.

First gun I ever bought for myself was a ruger vaquero in 45 colt with the birdshead gripframe. The polished stainless steel just caught my eye and I had to have it. Plus it went great with my winchester 94 handed down to me from my father.

My first gun is a Remington 511x in 1966. Still have it, in fact I cleaned it all up and am going to take it out to the range this or next week.
Think it cost me $36. Boy that seemed like a lot of money.

Colt Government 1911.

Bought it at The Gunsight in Fullerton, great old guy that used to run the shop. He had probably the best consignment guns on display in Orange County. All of them were 90% + condition and a few rarities for CA also.

Unfortunately, he passed and the shop closed down. I learned how to field strip a 1911 from him.

Marlin 60 bought from Walmart several years ago. One day I got tired of my previous cheap used Marlin 60 jamming constantly at the range... so I pretty much donated it to the range after the session and headed to Walmart.

bought my first gun in 1990. i wanted to buy one of the german police guns,a p5,p225,or p7,but could not afford them. got what i figured was the closest thing i could afford one of the first smith and wesson 3914s.still have it. the p5 police trade ins at that time were going for $550. new ones close to $1000. the 3914 was $284 if i remember correctly. got a p5 interarms and a pdw imported p7 last year. just need the p6 and i wil be set.

My first was a H&K P7M13. Factory demo w/ 2 mags for < $900 in Maryland.

I could have had consecutive serial numbers with the other one next to it. The price was $1800 for both and I passed on it..........really, really stupid. I was a newbie and didn't know any better.

Stupid move #2 was selling it during a divorce for $600.

Bought a gently used P7M13 a few years ago with one mag for $1300. They will bury me with this one.

Remington 597 with bull bbl and laminate stock. One of the most accurate rifles I have ever shot. Slapped a scope on top and used it for competition silhouette matches. Wish I never got rid of it.

I still haven't bought a NIB gun - the first gun I purchased for myself was a Bulgarian Mak which I've since sold with no regrets. The second was a used Sig P6 - she's a keeper.

H&K .45 USP Compact Tactical, Paid 1K, Cash

Bought it two months before I deployed from the first gun store you see when you leave Fort Campbell. Carried it with my brand new CCW License.

Im in love with it.

xd servcie model .40 i bought it in july 2004 after my first deployment. i bought it at a place called pats pawn in kansas, the place is more of a gun store than a pawn shop.

The first and only new gun I have ever bought is a Winchester Model 70 Stainless Classic in .308 I puchased from an FFL I worked with. Later I put a Leupold Vari-X II 3 - 9 on it. All of my other firearms have been purchased used (but not abused). I still have every one of them.

I got my first pistol there a springfield 1911GI

The very first gun that I bought was a Russian SKS that I saved all summer for. I was putting myself through school, and sharing an appartment in NY so money was tight. I knew the owner of the gun shop and he let me put 15 bucks down to hold it, and I woudl go in every weekend with my tips to pay it down and to visit it.

It seems silly now that I have a couple of homes, and dozens of guns, but now that you make me think about it...none so special.

Good thread!:D

First new gun I bought was a Colt Mark IV Govt Model, for the princely sum of $200. The last new gun I bought was a DSArms AR-15, for right around $1000.00. Money well spent both times.

Cold Delta Elite. I borrowed the money from the bank I was so broke. I was in high school and a friend of my dads owned a shooting range.

I saw an IPSC match one afternoon and I was hooked.

I borrowed $2000 for the Delta, Ernie Hill leather, and a reloader from a local small bank. The guy asked why I needed the money, I told him, and that was fine with him. He said "I wish more kids would make their first bank loans for something useful instead of chrome wheels and a stereo for their truck" LOL

Still have it though it's been taken apart and rebuilt 2 or 3 times now. For a while when I was a B class IPSC shooter it had a Heinie compensator on it. That's gone now and I put on a new barrel and reblued it a couple years ago. I quit IPSC when the optics showed up on the scene.

The first one was a Ruger P85. Sent it in for the recall, and it still shot well enough. Wasn't that crazy about it... sold it to a guy in my Reserve unit for what I paid for it, at least.

The first gun I bought was a Springfield M6 Scout .22/.410.

I had made a trade earlier that year, when I was still 17 for a Marlin .357 levergun. I don't recollect the model right off hand.

The first gun I bought NIB was a Ruger GP100 Stainless 4" or 4.5" barrel.
