How many times have you been hit by ricochets?

My landlord is going to have fun cleaning all the BBs out of the garage when I move out.
That probably wasn't the smartest idea I've ever had, but I never had any issues (I only had the thing for a week).

I was hit in the thigh by a .22 bullet that came out after I shot out the casehead through the case mouth of a .357 sig at 50 feet.

Never have, but did have part of a plywood target come bac at me. only left a small red mark on my leg.

Yes, once. Where it happened is what makes it interesting. In 1982 I was on the rifle team for the University of Hawaii. I think everybody on the team was ROTC. Back then, there was a range on the University of Hawaii Manoa campus! Can you imagine? The range was back-stopped by a rock cliff. So we were on the range and there was a guy there with his AR. He was on the far right lane and started blasting away at a lizard (gecko) on the cliff wall over on the far left. I heard the bullet bounce off the side wall and it hit me in the chest. I was wearing a shooting jacket and barely felt it. I picked up the mangled piece of lead and put into my earplug container. For many years I showed it to people, telling them I got shot "with this."

They closed that range shortly after--something about a need for cleaning up lead. I'm sure it never re-opened.

twice. once with a .22 shooting at a turtle in a creek bullet must have hit a rock or something and the second time with a .223 hit me in the left hip left a nice bruise

I do about once a month at pin night. I have a jar where I keep them. I have 8 so far I took a few .45 to the chest and a .357 a 9mm in the leg and a few .40's here and there.

My friend had a .40 miss his left eye by a inch. He now wears a set of goggles over his glasses.

My friends and I used to shoot ou bb guns at each other but it was always below the waist. I know it was a bad idea but i wasnt the one with the scar ;)

Other than that I have never been hit with a bullet. now shrapnel from improperly detonated fireworks is a different story.

Personally I have not been hit by ricochett, But I have been "rained on by shot from the trap range while I was on the rifle range, felt like small hail.
Also, I don't know if this counts, My dad pushed an empty 30.06 shell with a new primer installed, into a cardboard box, Then he shot it with a BB gun, The primer blew out and hit him in the side(just grazed him, but left a scar)

Please wear a bright garment so we will know that it is you, a sign would also be good

I used to shoot at an abandoned rock quarry before it was annexed into the city; I never observed back-spatter more than twenty feet (mostly shooting .22s at well over 20 feet).

I want to know what that guy was shooting with the .50 that it launched it right back at him.

It sounded like they had said
"We're not doing that anymore."
"Nope, no more iron."

So I assume they were shooting iron, most likely an engine block if I had to guess.

twice like 25 years ago when I was young :)
gravel pit shooting
one from a 45 one from a 223 both hurt a lot the 45 we were shooting a car up and I was about 3 feet away from the wheel when it was hit with a 45 and it bounced into my ankle making a mess of it :) as it was more a glancing angle ricochet

the other was about 50 feet away from a metal railroad rail and I actually saw like in slow motion but also very fast a shiny thing coming back toward me and what felt a burn in my forehead lucky it was the jacket only and not the bullet but it stuck in the rim of my (hat)
left a brass line on the visor
lucky I was 1/4 inch lower I would be blind in one eye
within a minute a gold ball size welt was on my forehead :)

ahhh to be young and invincible again and of course very stupid when I look back on it now ;)

Been hit by a few bounce backs while at pin shoots before. Also caught a round of hardball in the crotch one time. My advice, always wear your ear and eye protection of course, but a cup don't hurt either!!!!
