It may go without saying that with the recent rise in violence that has plagued Chicago over the past few weekends, that those residents with election voting rights should be considering their next vote for Mayor. The picture has been blurred in the background to give the impression of chaos and the street lamps look like fire....nice touch. However, the Mayor is blasting the gun industry for his city's problems. Churches want to open doors in the afternoon to protect family's from gunfire.... sigh... read before you eat your wheaties this morning unless you want to :barf: them.

If I could insure that all would get out alive, I'd personally haul another milk cow into the city. :(

ALL getting out alive wouldn't necessarily be a good thing

Girls as young as 13 having babies. Its the guns fault
Generations of the same family on welfare. Guns fault
Gangs that control parts of the city. Guns fault
High taxes to fund welfare system pushed out most unskilled jobs. Guns Fault
Kids who would rather sell dope than work because of rap role models or they just make more money. Guns fault
Families with 4 generations of gang affiliation. Guns fault.
People who would thinks the police are the enemy so they will not report anything but then complain when their little Tyrone gets shot. And he was just going to get out of the gangs, go back to school and be good. Guns fault.

One can only hope the People of Chicago will finally rid themselves of Daly and his cronies.

I'd just like to note that to me, I highly doubt the "blurring" was an intentional attempt at skewing the message of the photo. The picture was taken at night which requires a longer open-shutter time and looks to have been taken by someone holding the camera above their head, not on a tripod.

What I find really disturbing is the idea of making SWAT teams into regular street units in a "show of force." That's scary...

A fired-up Daley blasted the gun industry and called on parents and adults to do their part by intervening to help troubled youth and by working to keep others on the right path.

There used to be a definition of stupid that went something like: "Stupidity is trying the same thing over and over while expecting the outcome to change"

Will they EVER catch on?

No, of course not, and you miss the point anyway. What many people want is change they can believe in. Whatever they don't believe in is termed "false consciousness."

average shooter,

I can agree with that.... many who view it may not see that right away but too late, it already had its impact.

"The definition of insanity is to try the same thing over and over and expect a different result."~~Albert Einstein.
