I'm currently in the sandbox and THR is one of my few luxuries that I look forward to... that an a can of lo-carb monster energy drink... :) Oh, and then there's getting to play with some cool toys and ride in some cool vehicles.

Cool pictures! Thank you for what you are doing and be safe! My Prayers are with you and all who are serving our great country!

Hey! Glad to see you're doing alright over there. You need to shoot me some emails. That CPT rank looks pretty good too. I'll be joining you in the sand box in a few weeks. It's rough when JAG guys are getting more action than the Infantry ;)

Now that's what an orderly room should look like. This man has class, I tell ya...

Screaming Chickens, eh? As the cadence goes,

"Cause an Air-Assault daddy ain't nothin' but a joke!"

Sorry, Sir, I had to say it, being actually Airborne and all ;)

I'll post some pics tomorrow. 60 days left and counting!

Take care, Sir.

Killermonkey...

I couldn't decide which was better, Airborne or Air Assault, so I went ahead and did both!

Keep up the fight and you'll be home before you know it!

Rakkasan!

You guys over there serving are just plain friggin' awesome!

Thanks from the bottom of my heart for your sacrifice and devotion.

Y'all are a shining example of everything that's right with this great nation!

They sure are making Captains young these days. When I was in, Captains were older than me. Go figure...

Stay safe Sir.

Thanks for sharing.
Most of all, thank you for your service.

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

It's been a while (2005), and these were before everyone had cool ACU's.

I'll be back next year, I'm sure

The dunk tank's what you get with a construction company, plywood, fiberglass and too much sun :D

Interesting.

I have a brother in the 2/327th over there right now as well. This is his second tour.

March was supposed to be the end of his active service contract, but he got stop lossed, so he'll be there until December.

This is a pic of him with a Gerber folder he gave me when he got back, and some other memorabilia he had laying around:

Don't zig when you should zag, don't forget to duck, stay safe, and kick ass!

Freedom isn't free

Thanks, guys, for paying the price so I can live a great & free life. I really appreciate you & what you do.
I'll try to do my small part to keep the 2nd amendment intact back here so what you're fighting for will have more meaning yet.

Robert Hairless, I would be willing to bet that you're not willing to destroy the wall of your gun safe, or the floor of your house. Yet you probably have muzzles pointed at those things right now. Obviously there are common sense exception to rules. Ever been to a gun store? Are the owners of the store willing to destroy all of their display cases? Probably not. Yet their guns are going to be pointed at some part of that display case.

A muzzle always has to be pointed somewhere, even when it's in the gun safe. I'm not willing to destroy anything but bad guys. Since I can't just have my weapon constantly pointed at a bad guy by default just to fulfill Rule 2 to the letter, what's the solution?

That's like saying "All firearms are always loaded" applies to weapons that are field stripped and laying on a mat in pieces. Or weapons that require the the trigger to be pulled(stupid design aside) to be field stripped can never be stripped because that would violate the "Never put you finger on the trigger unless you are ready to shoot" rule.

The 4 rules are meant to stress safety, constant thought and care, and common sense. Not a "ZOMG the 4 rules are 10000% in effect all the time!!!1!!" attitude.

Thank you for your service! Heroes and Patriots!

I pray that your mission keeps you continually safe and gives you great experiences you will enjoy, treasure, and someday use to fill your grandchildren with pride.

As mundane and dangerous as your days may seem, you have left the world of timid souls and joined the ranks of American Heroes. Future generations will talk of what you have done today. It's unlikely they will talk of what the rest of us at home did today.

Whether it sits quietly in your heart or out loud on a badge, your great service toward your mission cannot be taken away from you.

But you already all know this. That's why you are where you are.

I just wanted to say it again.

Thank You.
