Guns of Iron Man

Whatever the tax, I'd be willing to pay that.

Probably need a jet pilot's license too. 'Course, who's going to pull you over for speeding when you're flying at Mach 3?

Though, all things considered, Iron Man is pretty open carry, unless the armor's tucked in the trunk of his car or briefcase.

Yea I had some beef with IronMan as well. Was the camo that the Military personell were wearing incorrect as well?? I didnt realize any of our guy's wore tigerstripe.

Those were supposed to be Air Force personnel. Apparently they adopted a tigerstripe pattern a few years back:

http://www.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123017545
The new uniform design is a pixilated tiger stripe with four soft earth tones consisting of tan, grey, green and blue.

Saw it. Those weren't pock marks from the rifles. Those were scratches from the tank shell, and the further damage was from the near hit by the anti-aircraft missile. Pepper mistook anti-aircraft missile shrapnel damage for bullet holes.

The rifles and other gear in the hand of the Ten Rings also were in clear violation of Stark's personal policy of providing to the US.gov and close allies. With the denoument of the movie, I'm sure the US military will continue to be defended by Stark technology

No no no, not the pepper scene.

Right after he throws the guy into the air and into the side of the building, there are very distinct silver impact craters on the red/gold suit from where the guy shot at him with his carbine. I had to sit through this twice, once with my buddies and once with the wife, I made sure the second time cause it seemed a little incongruous with the awesomeness of the armor.

GUn safety ? not for the BGs. i thought the cave scenes early in the movie had some of the BGs with their fingers on the trigger (when Stark was facing the video cam)?

ALso remember when he was about to escape in his proto suit and the BGs (3 of them i think) came in with their decked out HKs, but none of them have the "tactical lights" on to see what they're shooting at ?

but yeah :

1. awesome movie
2. nice cars
3. A lot of Hks
4. CGI blends in nicely
5. havta own the DVD

I'm still a bit disappointed that Ma Deuce didn't have more of an effect on the first suit.

And I'm also pretty sure that I was the only one in the theatre laughing at the display of the XM26 shotgun during the posed scene.

On a totally unrelated note, I was flipping through a copy of the Juxtaposed magazine today, and came across a full-page photo of several gangbanger-appearing individuals standing in front of a house. The central guy in the photo was browing through a copy of the American Handgunner Annual Buyer's Guide (specifically a page of Glocks). Thought that more than a little incongruous for the neighborhood depicted in the picture..

Gotta love the fact that they showed off the Raptors too... whee! And the Raptor's cannon fire? Very cool and realistic (think I can get one of those for HD?)

B) When the SHIELD agents whip out their sigs as they're going into section 16, there's the "my gun just cocked itself then decocked itself because it's soooooo bad" noise.

that is how you are supposed to use a SIG. you chamber a round, then decock to go to DA mode.

this also explains why some guys feel a need to cock their guns before actually shooting - perhaps they want a single action pull, and can afford the time to cock the hammer.

now, while I do use the former method, i probably would not go with the latter.

In the first episode of MTV's "the Osbornes" show, Ozzy was filmed walking up the stairs of his new home with a M1 Garand in hands mumbling something like "I'm putting this under the bed".

Ha haa! :) i can imagine ozzy shooting a gun, "Bang! Bang! Click"... "Shhaarroooonnn!.. mumbles somthing not understandable :neener:

But aside from that iron man was a decent movie, some minor flaws in gun-physics :p

I thought it was a good movie.

Let me say that again.

I thought it was a good movie. Movies involve suspension of disbelief, especially if you know more than jack squat about guns.

My biggest question was not how the suits (hammered-in-a-cave prototype and high-tech Iron Man suit) took all that damage, but rather how terrorists in the middle of BF Nowhere got all those top-end Stark products.

It's the first movie I've seen in a theater since X-Men III. Yes,I'm a dork.

The 10 Rings name of the terrorists is the clue where they got their money from - THE MANDARIN.

Whether he was working for Communist China or an independant malcontent intent on conquering China, he had the cash to supply the Rings enough to buy the guns and missiles from Stane.

I never made that connection. I guess we know who one of the "stars" of Iron Man 2 will be, along with War Machine.

My guess would be, once he finds the other rings, that Bald Bad Guy is the Mandarin... or maybe he is just a Hand of the Mandarin.

and yes, the body plates of the armor are supposed to be reinforced with a 'repulsor field'.

And yes, no tank would have the traverse to hit him flying at that speed, nor the main gun elevation.

And my theory on him taking out the tank is that he fired something down the barrel and their next attempt to fire is what blew them to pieces.

who cares about the guns did anyone pay attention to the optics??? i saw like 3 eotechs and the rest were acog aimpoint with magnifiers or other stuff tacked on.

gotta wonder where they even get that stuff... if they're using hollywood guns then are they paying the real buck for those optics?

is there a mandarin in the new marvel universe?? you'll notice you stayed til the end of the movie that they remade nick fury when they revamped the marvel universe. he's now samual l jackson in the movie and in the comics.

Don't think Stark supplied small arms. They were more into the high-end guided weapons systems, no?
Yes, he was selling High-end missiles...not small arms,

and the funniest part for me was when he fall from he's roof and "butter-finger" spay him with the extinguisher...LMFAO

Ok, as an aside, making firing prop guns, especially assault rifles (full auto) is becoming a lost art. Alot of the old companies that were known for this are GONE- pushed out of business by the sate of CA, and/or southern CA cities. (hence why several famous prop firearms are now in private hands in other states, including the minigun from Predator/T2)I have my theories on really cool ways to modernize this art, but since I don't have FFL + all the state permits necessary, alas, they remain my own ideas.

I assumed that they were stark upgraded with all the scopes andtargeters and undrslung bells and whistles. But it was a cool film.

trinydex - Nick Fury from the Ultimate Marvel universe is modelled after Samuel L. Jackson.

Plus, I don't know if Hasselhoff was available to reprise his role.

As for the Mandarin, I know he's still Tony's toughest opponent. There was a huge arc in the revamped "Heroes Return" Iron Man book regarding the Mandarin nearly taking out China and Russia (not so good news, they'd be replacing the Commie government with someone even worse - the Mandarin).

And, Tony did say "Those are my guns."
