Please enlighten me (about Taurus firearms)

Bought a used Taurus mdl441, 6" s/s 44 spl. Neglected by previous owner. cleaned and tightened and it is as good as any of my Colts, Smiths, or Rugers. Guns are just machinery and can be maintained and repaired by most anyone with a basic understanding of their workings, mostly it takes patience.

simply put there the hyundi of the gun world what i mean is they arent total junk but they are no mercedes, they do ok,but their just not the best. i have thought about the 24/7 in 45 once or twice but i never took the plundge i guess it filled a niche i didnt have

my personal 24/7 experience

Please tell me about quality
Hit or miss. Those with "hits" love them, but there seem to be a conspicuously large number of us who have had lemons.

reliability
Excellent, the gun never failed to fire. Too bad the accuracy was so poor that the target usually only had only a couple holes in it after a full 17+1. And before anyone says otherwise, I'm not a bad shot, do fine with SIG or Ruger. Even the tiny DAO Kel Tec P11 did lots better.

customer service
Dismal. If you get a "miss" in the quality department, stock up on Excedrin, you're gonna need it. I ended up selling the 24/7 rather than continue to spar with Taurus repair.

I've owned 5 - one was an out-of-box failure (revolver - timing was off) and the dealer took it back. All others, revolvers and semi-autos have been well made, reliable, and accurate... of course I practice.

Have fun with it DataMax. I just purchased my fifth Taurus (both revolvers nd autos) and have had very good luck with them. Only had to deal with their customer service once and I was happy with the outcome. I almost bought the 24/7 a couple of years ago but opted for the PT-140 Millennium Pro for CCW purposes due to the smaller size. It's been flawless from round one, and i've got about 800 rounds through it so far.

Have you any experience with a Taurus orare you replacing experience with what you have read about them from other users. I have one and am very satisfied with the complete operation of it.
Speaking from true experience.

Fortunately I am lucky enough to have several choices in the safe for any particular activity. This purchase is simply an "I want" thing. And what I would like is a high cap tac type pistol in .40 S&W. I have owned a couple of EAA's, didn't really care for them. I also tried a Para P16-40 and didn't really like it either. So I thought I would try an SA XDM ... then I came across the 24/7 OSS and I really like the feature set ... so I am giving it a try. I will pick it up either tomorrow or Wednesday. I plan to shoot pins with it Wednesday night.
