How do you carry a full sized pistol?

I am having a ton of trouble with this too.

I try my CZ75 with it's Bianchi OWB holster, and it just doesnt work. I wear it with a really thick, really stiff Ariat belt.

When I wear it, it is totaly obvious. It sticks out in the side, and when I lean over it pitches a huge tent in my back.

When my buddy puts on the same rig with a similar shirt, it dissapears. The gun is tucked right in against his side and stays there, and moves with him when he leans over.

He takes it off, I put it back on in the same place, and I have the same problems!

And we are of similar size and shape. It doesnt make any sense, and it is really frustrating.

Any suggestions?

Sometimes its a matter of just a 1/2 inch or so in place ment. Put the gun on one side of the belt loop you might as well open carry. Place it on the other side and it's "What gun ?".

I find the same thing. And I wish pants makers would put the belt loops in the same place on pants. I get it all figured out for one pair of jeans, but then when I put on a new pair I go through "the dance" again of where to place the holster for comfort & concealment.

It's not *that* big of a deal since I'm always starting at the same place on my hip, but it is a few extra sconds of "what pair of pants is this again???".

A minor issue but hey, it's a pain.

Adding to the discussion of a good belt, I was not going to pay $100 and up for what I considered to be a good belt. I found Ted Blocker holsters' J belt to be the best belt I've ever owned and it was 60 bucks shipped to me. I can easily carry a 14 round loaded G21sf with no problems on this belt.

I'm 6'1, 190 pounds and I carry a Sig P229, XD 45 ACP or Ruger P90 with two spare magazines and a SureFire and haven't had a problem with concealment.

I typically care OWB just behind the hip and conceal with an untucked polo or tee shirt.

Good quality holster and belt are key.

I have also had complaints with some brands of pants with belt loop placement but usually wear some form of tactical pants (for the double thick knees and seat which I seem to consistently blow out) now and haven't had a problem.

I'm having a hard time finding a good and comfortable iwb holster for my HK usp 45 full size so i can carry it. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Step one, sell the CW40 and the P3AT. I carried a Kahr MK40 and a P3AT, got tired of the maintenance of small autos and not really having a real gun when carrying them. So, I sold all small guns except a J-frame which I endeavor not to carry by itself.

Step two get a good belt and holster. IWB makes the most sense usually. If it doesn't work, lose some weight. Carry is a lot easier when your chest is bigger than your waist.

I carry a Glock 17 IWB with a Kramer holster and one of several belts.

In a fullsize, I have a tough time finding a way to carry w/o printing too. It's best in cooler weather -- either SOB, or a shoulder holster and (if you're lucky) IWB ;)

The key is a good holster and a loose shirt. I carry a 1911 in a comp-tac CTAC - also did the same for a USP (bit larger, but worked).

I carry a Smith and Wesson M&P9, OWB in a kydex holster on an instructors belt quite often. If its not that then its a G19 in the same setup.

No problems here.

I currently carry a Beretta 92 in one of these:Hybrid Saddle Style Holster without the thumbreak, as well as the matching mag pouch. It rides at 4:00, and usually if I'm not at work (where I can't carry), I almost always wear an untucked shirt. That holster is VERY comfortable and is very well made. I have fairly broad shoulders, so I don't print much.

I carry a Ruger P90 IWB in a Minotaur MTAC holster. My usual attire consists of jeans and a floppy-loose 'T' shirt. However I can tuck in a loose dress shirt and remain undetected.

I’ve heard a lot of people say us fat boys have a problem carrying. My P90 just sinks into my love handle (now there’s a picture for your minds eye!) and stays completely out of sight.
