Pics of your optic sighted ARs?

If I get Lasik, I'll have to ask the doc whether they could add illuminated reticles to my eyes!

Give it a few years we'll be able to get all those spiffy cyberoptic aiming doohickeys I drool over in the books :)

That and animated graphics on our eyeballs...... I call the untuned TV static!

Once the holosight is zeroed, flip the mag in place and center the reticle in the field of view with the adjustment screws on the mag base. Then flip it out of the way and flip it back. You will have to repeat this a couple of times before you get it where you want it and it stays there. After that, no problems. It stays there. You don't have to re-zero it to use the mag. It retains the zero from the non-magnified aspect as is consistant with a holosight. The magnifier does enlarge the reticle, but it is appropriate with the sight picture. It also clarifies the reticle making it much sharper. It really does improve your potential accuracy. There is no adjustment for the shooter when changing from magnified to non-magnified. It's really nice that way. It still has a good field of view under magnification as it is just like looking through a 3x scope ('cause it is). And that is exactly what it is like, looking through a 3x power scope with an electronic reticle. The picture is very clear and sharp on the magnifiers (for those concerned about the quality of the glass). The unit itself is beefier and much more sturdy than I imagined. And a little bigger than I had expected, which was good for me as some of the pictures make it look small.

I have this same setup on a Sig 556 but my experience is different.

My point of impact changes about 1 MOA using the magnifier. I've also found the magnifier distorts the reticule. I can see the individual pixels in the 1-MOA dot while using the 3.5 magnifier and they disappear when unmagnified.

My conclusion is this setup makes for a great tactical setup but it is not well suited for precision shooting at long ranges.

Precision shooting at 300 yards is best left to this Bushmaster A3 with Bushnell 3x9x40 with Brownell's rings and YHM risers.

why not go with a aimpoint or eo tech, with a 3x magnifier? that is the best of both orlds there, you can use the magnified optic when you need it, take it off or swivel it to the side when you don't need it.

if you are gonna go with the acog i suggest that you go with the nsn model

here is a pic of my bushmaster with eotech.

cameron.personal,

What position do you have the stock set for the IOR scope? NTCH position?

How do you like the UBR stock compared to your other stocks?

There is no UBR stock in my pictures, all the stocks, LMT SOPMOD, Magpul M93, Magpul CTR are shown in the collapsed position for the photos.

I usually have the SOPMOD (with the IOR scope) in the third position.

That said I do like the Magpul UBR (not pictured) it is a little heavier and would balance a heavier rifle like my FAL or an AR with a heavier front end.
