How bad did McCain Feingold hit the NRA?

It had a large impact on Fundraising and how the NRA and other .Orgs organize. This is why you see a number of Splinter and secondary groups coming out.

One way it hurt is that the NRA must now be silent about anti-gun candidates in the 60 days prior to the election.

I thought that the NRA developed a "news organization" arm in order to exempt them from that 60 day requirement.

The NRA arguably already had a news organization; but they developed the one they had further in order to avoid that requirement.

However, the problem with the news organization requirement is you still have to get people to listen to you. With ads, you can project your message to them.

I assume you're speaking of NRA Radio-it's my understanding NRA Radio was created in order to get around McCain Feingold.

Don't forget the offshore pirate TV stations they promised us, if McCain/Feingold were upheld. I'm assuming I don't see those broadcasts because I'm too far inland...
