Okay, many of you know, awhile back Life Members of the NRA got a special offer to sign up new Life Members for $300 ( normal price is $1,000 ).

A pretty sweet deal was worked out with some folks at the NRA, and we were able to get 50+ new Life Members signed up. Others on different forums got even more.

Well, I guess the numbers that got in for $300 may have caught the NRA off guard.

I just got a new offer in the mail. I can again sign somebody up for $300 ( They say family member. but we're all family here. Right:D ). The problem is, I can ONLY sign up 1 person. They do have a box on the submission form that hints they may offer it up to more than one later, and do I want to be notified if they do. Well YES.

They have made it a bit more difficult as well. No easy phone call. I have to send in this form ( with payment ). They will in turn return an activation form, that I need to turn over to the new member. And finally, the new member sends in the activation form.

Really don't understand why they want to limit it like this, and make it such a hassle. Every person that could get on board puts $300 in the till, and adds permanent head count.

Anyway, I'd like to get at least the 1 I'm being allowed ( maybe more will be allowed later ). So the 1st to PM me and says they want to do it gets it. However, you'll have to follow through. If contact becomes a problem, or payment doesn't show in a reasonable time, I'll move to the next in line.

Hey, by the way, I'm enjoying my $300 membership that you offered before. Thanks again!

You're welcome nplant. That worked out well last time.

I already have a couple PMs. So we likely have this filled.
I'll let ya all know if the NRA extends the offer.

Any other Life Members get this offer & would like to share?

Tuckerdog1, you got me in on the last one. If I get the "letter", I'll sign someone up.

If that gets offered to me, count me in...

I received an offer directly from the NRA for life member for $500, but that was just a bit too much. $300 though makes a lot of sense at my age!

I'm getting more PMs from folks that would like to do this. Of course, that can only be if the NRA extends the offer beyond the 1. If they do, I'll get as many as they will allow, in the order of the PMs I get.

Thanks Lawson4, Share the joy:D

Ha! Just got a letter from the NRA yesterday with a check to give me $400 off a life membership (leaving the membership costing $600). Because I knew from THR it could be gotten cheaper, I decided to wait.

NRA listen up! Just offer the darned things at one price....cutting the costs for a select few just pisses off those who can't get it at the low price and also those who previously paid full price! I just hate bargains when I'm not the one who got them (rant....)

Anybody who wants to offer me the $300 life membership will get my thanks, and the NRA will get a check.

On another forum we had a thread for this and pretty much everybody involved got a $300 life membership. It's an awesome deal when it pops up.

I have 8 folks in line behind the 1st responder. I took the time to wade through the whole packet. Here is what the NRA says about additional memberships.

Every Life Member is supposed to get this packet to sign up 1 new "Legacy" member. Legacy implies it's a younger member of the family, so the interest in firearms gets planted in a younger generation. Anyway, if some of these are not taken advantage of, they will be offered up to Life Members that do want to use them. The deadline is August 12th. So after that, there will probably be more to offer up.

Tucker, if they let you do the same thing you did last time then shoot me a PM. I'll funnel people your way.

Some unexpected costs came up right before I was planning on getting a Money Order for the lifetime membership you offered last time, so if it so happens you can sign up multiple people, definitely count me in this next time.

I'll try again if it becomes available. I couldn't get it anyone at the NRA to let me sign up last time.:(

I just received my own offer from the NRA on this. I will be signing up my son as part of his high school garduation present.

I am curious abbout one thing though - what happens to my membership? I ask because a legacy is usually something left in a will, or left or passed on to a current generation or future generation by a past generation. The use of the word legacy seems to me to imply I would be losing my benefits by gifting them to another, though I admit I did not see that anywhere in the offer.

All the best,
Glenn B
