I am addicted to lever-action rifles. Winchesters and Marlins, I don't care . Is there help for my addiction? On the other hand, I don't have a problem, yet. 2 win. 94's and a Marlin 3336A Yes I do own other rifles their just mil-sup.

Three doesn't qualify as an addiction.

There is still hope for you if you truly want help, and are able to admit it to yourself and others.

I couldn't stop, and had to buy another gun-cabinet just for Winchester levers & pumps. :D

It is not an addiction

Its a choice and a fine choice it is. I recommend lever actions often as just the right size gun for somebody who wants a light weight, easy to carry, easy pointing gun for plinking, self defense and hunting. I'm not particularly concerned about any centerfire caliber or the need for round or flat points, its a non factor at normal hunting ranges for most people.

I have got the same problem...

I like all sorts of rifles, but find the leveraction Great. I am partial to Marlins, but have some Winchesters as well.

Have a good one,

Matt

Well if you want a lever action that doesn't cost as much to feed you could get a marlin 39A or one of the henry .22 lever actions. I don't own any lever actions and don't really plan too just because i was never really into them. I don't hunt either so i don't need a brush gun.

There are worse things to be addicted to. Sounds like you need a Winchester 92 or replica (like the Puma/Rossi), and an 1895 Winchester, and an 1895 Marlin, and a few more, before you're "certifiable". But I understand - I really like leverguns - they're extremely reliable (so long as your COL is within spec), solid chunks of good-looking steel (usually gloss blued). :)

I must stage an INTERVENTION and insist that you send those to me before this gets way out of hand. Besides, they would go nicely with my Marlin 39A. Just looking out for you, brother!

daveit,
Thanks but I think I got it under control.
PremiunSauces,
You may have an ideal there, but the last Winchester 1895, I saw was in 30-06 and they want $6000. It was in NRA excellent condishtion, too high for my blood. One of the 94's is a trapper model in 45 colt.
I was also thinking about buying a another 336 in 35 Rem.or 32 speciel
(unlikely but th door ain't shut). In case you guy were worrring,
I have no wife, no kids and no girlfriends.

Get a better paying job, save money, make investments, purchase only things that you need, food, clothing, and shelter. Then some day a $ 10,000 firearm can be yours. I have read a number of times post by people that can only afford a $ 150 scope or $ 200 rifle---That plain old bull crap....Start a savings account , put a few $$$$s in it each payday.. What ever brand or type of firearm you like , get the best one they make---- When you get to be an old man you will have firearms that have increased in value. --- Its not fun to own junk..

Sure, that's what all addicts say. I must insist you send me those lever guns. It's only going to get worse. Mark my words, you'll be living out on the streets in your cardboard box clutching your 1,453 lever guns. I'm here to help.

Only counts as an addiction IF you have more leverguns in your "Artillery Locker" than the 5 closest local stocking Marlin dealers combined...

:D  :D

Now, stand up before the group and say "I am a leverholic" and all will be fine!

Foghorn,
In that case I don't have a problem. Thank God.

MMCSRET,
that speaks volumes of the rifle, or the owner had to get rid of, for some reason.

Uh-oh....

It's cheaper than crack, but probably just as enjoyable. I am going out today to shop for a fourth lever gun so I am not any sort of role model for talking you out of it.
