The WASR is a Romanian AK variant which was originally made for use with a low-capacity single-stack 10 rnd magazine.

After the Ban went into sunset, they were converted to accept higher-capacity mags by widening the magwell.

Fit and finish on them isnt the greatest and accuracy can vary a bit, but it's an AK. It was never intended to be a sniper-grade weapon and it was meant to function, not look pretty.

WASR-10: 7.62X39mm
WASR-2: 5.45x39mm
WASR-3: 5.56x45mm

Here's my WASR-3 in plum:

well, maybe if you didnt dress her up in plum :neener:

I think AKs look great compared to alot of the guns coming out nowadays. It can pull off both that classic wood look AND a synthetic look while still looking 'evil'. Whats not to love about looks like that?

I was going to put OD green on her at the time but KVAR didn't have them in stock, so I went for the Plum.

Turned out good I reckon. I liked the Plum even more after I saw it in person.

Good thread, I am sharing pics of my own "golf clubs." :)

Hey on a side note, I often run into anti-AK babble on THR.... where people say 7.62 x 39 is "wildly inaccurate" and 5.45 x 39 is "too weak." By the time you get done reading some of these AR-phile rants, you'd think the AK was on the same level as the French Chauchat machine gun from World War I.

Well, today, there is plenty of 7.62 x 39 and 5.45 x 39 flying around, getting the job done as we speak.

Georgia switched to M4s (5.56) in Jan of 2008 as part of their plan to join NATO eventually. I have a feeling Russia might mop the floor with them using (gasp) AKs!

Speaking of which, Russian is pounding them right now.
