Mike:

Thanks for your reply! It seems like everytime I want to watch (virtually any recurring shooting show) I'm stuck with competitions. Ugh!

Sounds like you're working hard to keep SG interesting, so I'll keep my eye out. Content aside, you put together superb productions!!!

Cheers.

I can honestly say that Wednesday night is the only
night of the week that I actually watch television.
Keep up the good work!:)

I don't mind having a good mix of stuff. All these shows tend to hit the same things. I seem to see the latest boom-stick show up on Shooting USA, G&A, and American Rifleman within a few weeks of each other, while the big competitions can pop up on SG and Shooting USA/Sighting In. Fortunately they all give good summaries up front so I can decide if the content interests me. If so, I watch, if not, I delete and move on.

I prefer theme shows. SG did a nice female oriented show a few years back, got the wife to watch that one. Easier than calling her in for the 2 minutes Shooting USA has a female oriented segment.

But ultimately there is only so much content without getting into real specific stuff like focused gunsmithing or particulars for a specific competition. So long as the show is fun and maybe features some folks I know (see a lot of old San Antonio shooting buddies!!) I'm good.

I have a Sig P228 that, I swear to god, never jammed once in 14 years. 4-5k rounds through it.

That's less than 400 rounds a year. You're not shooting it enough. I'm not knocking Sig's, my wife carries one and it's very well made. Accurate little bugger, too. But shoot it long enough and it will eventually jam. Even my carry guns can jam. Granted, it's happened only during classes and with high daily round counts, but it can still happen.

As for shooting shows in general, I like them. I enjoy seeing people faster and more accurate than me shoot. I like it even better when they explain things as they go or after they've demonstrated something. I don't carry a revolver, but I still get a kick out of watching Jerry Miculek do his stuff with one.

You did explain TRB, didn't you?

MBane666:

Can you do a show on point shooting? I used to think it was mostly BS, then I took a 1,500-2,000 round 2 day course on it.... A WW2 combatives and point shooting segment would be interesting too.

I swear I'm going to go bankrupt from the ammo...I cannot reload the cases fast enough!
