Maybe love is too strong a word, but I really, really like my CZ 452 Trainer. It's my first, and only rifle, and although I've only had her a few months the two of us have quickly bonded. She's accurate, reliable, and drop dead gorgeous. She's also well made and has incredible iron sights. She didn't have the greatest trigger out of the box, and the bolt was a little rough at first, but a couple of Federal bulk packs have smoothed things out quite nicely.

The best thing is that she never fails to turn heads at the range. I'm the only one with a CZ at my local range, and although the regulars all know me, newbies with their 10/22s all stop and look whenever they see me working the bolt of the 452. They must be jealous.

Ditto

Ditto on the CZ 452 Trainer/Special -

Mine's probably my favorite field .22. And mine has taken a bit of shooting to loosen up also.
Here's a couple of pics of mine.

I must say that I am very fond of my 452-2e zkm also. No complaints what-so-ever. I think I am going crazy though because after shooting around 100 rounds or so, it started getting MORE accurate. Softballs were too easy at 50 yards so I stood up a 1"x1" stick of lumber and sawed it in half. Mine is still a low round count gun though. Maybe 500 rounds through it so far.

How about the full stocked model:

I usually shoot it with its fine open sights. But, I decided to try it with a big fixed 36X44 scope just for fun and accuracy testing.

Seems to like that pricey SK Pistol Match. 50 yards.

Looks like the original finish to me.

Out of all the rifles I have own and have owned it’s my hands down favorite. If you start trying different type of ammo you’ll be amazed of its accuracy.

BTW, those other shooters are jealous of the groups your getting!

Yes - original finish & thanks.
I'm thinking seriously about another CZ452, an American in .17HMR. Have a Savage 17 now but, I sure like the looks & quality of the CZ's more.

I shot my new 452 yesterday and I love it. I was shooting mostly Remington Subsonics, a few Rem Vipers.

I don't have a lot of rifle experience so I went with a .22 rifle to learn to shoot one. I have to go back to my gun shop and thank the guys for pointing out a CZ 452.

My smallest group at 50 yards with just the sights was about 3.5", maybe 4" and included one in the center (don't laugh ,my previous rifle experince includes just BB guns and one shot with a Ruger Mini 30). That's better than I expected since I am an inexperienced rifle shooter.

My problem is that I need to adjust the sights. It shoots to the left. I was aiming about 5" to the right and high in order to hit the center.

I think that I need to loosen the screw on the left side of the rear sights and tighten the screw on the right side in order to move the impact to the right. Is this right?

Since it shot a little high, I think I need to adjust the front sight back a little. Is this right?

Is it unreasonable to think that I can shoot those 3" or 4" groups at 75 or 100 yards with just the sights because If I get there I might buy a scope if you guys and the gun shop guys point me to something inexpensive and quality?...hint, hint.;)

Gun should be capable of doing much better than that....the fact that your new to rifle shooting is probably a contributing factor. Cheap ammo = large groups.......get some match grade and see how that works. Good rimfires are capable of one hole groups at 100 yards.

Rembrandt states that "Good rimfires are capable of one hole groups at 100 yards".

Everyone is entitled to their own definition of "good". But, the word "great" or phrase "world record setting" would seem more appropriate for the standard of "one hole groups" at 100 yards.

Please hit this link and travel down to the rimfire groups (measured center to center I would think).

So Sheff, what you're saying is that I might NOT be able to shoot single hole groups if I get some match grade ammo?...;)

Thanks for the tip on the ammo anyways Rembrandt. I will pick some up if I see it.
I know my rifle is capable of shooting better than that too but I need a little bit of High Road help to get there.

The CZ452FS is one of my favorite 22s.

Here it is with a Weaver 4x32 Classic Shotgun scope. Since doing trigger work, the pull is 12-13 ounces with no creep.

I'd buy another in a heartbeat.
