Arsenal? What Arsenal?

"When does a 'collection' become an arsenal anyway? "

I think it depends on how much ammo you keep around for your "collection", or having many instances of the same weapon. I know my wife started referring to my office as "the arsenal" once I was past my first 5 91/30's.

are those handguns riding on steel hooks shoved down the bore?
They are those little steel pegs from the local hardware store. They are straightened and covered with vinyl tubing (like fishtank hose)
I am very careful not to push them all the way on to the crown and I am the only one to remove and replace them. So - I think it is a good way to store them.

Where did you get the thumbhole/ open stock for the 700?
That is a Richard's Microfit "Tack-Driver" Silhouette Style

The heck with the firearms. Do I see five "cans"?

Anyway, buy a safe, please.

:) Do you want me to take them out of the vault that has 10" steel reinfoced concrete walls and put them in a gun safe? Or put a gunsafe inside the vault? Just kidding, you couldn't see the steel door in the photos.

The answer on the cans is 'yes' .... hense the handle "WhisperFan"

Nice collection Whisperfan, especially your collection of cans...

I hope that your wife doesn't have the combo to your gunroom, if she ever decided to count them, you may be in for a stern lecture.;)

One question though, I notice that you store your pistols by racking them at the muzzle with regular steel pegs. Don't you have any concerns about damaging the muzzles by doing this?

Just looking at the pics of your little "toyroom" put a big smile on my face! That's gotta be one of the nicest "G-rooms" I have ever seen ! I think the only way it could be called an "Arsenal" is the remote chance that it were shown on the evening news. :(

Never, an Arsenal is where firearms are made and repaired.

You are giving into is Anti-Gunner definitions that would have a Ruger 10-22 and a case of ammo (5000 rounds) being the scary arsenal DO NOT fall for it.

Correct, although it is commonly used in place of the more proper term "armory" for storage. An arsenal CAN be for storage along with manufacture and repair facilities.
