All my carry guns are ugly!

Glock 21C, Taurus 850UL, and my NAA guardian .32ACP is small.

If I were to open carry, I would have to buy a Dan Wesson, and I can't afford one!

I don't like open carry, because I don't want to know who's carrying. Probably a lot of people that I don't think are smart enough to use a rake.

That's cool. Some folks just aren't ready for OC yet. Some never will be. ;)

I'm just playin'. I only OC in places with few people. In a crowd or at the mall? It's CC for me.

Ignorance is bliss, eh?

Evidently you're not giving them enough credit, because I still don't hear too many horror stories about folks who legally carry (concealed or open) causing trouble.

I'm not a big fan of open carry although as a life NRA member I will defend anyone who choses to do so. I am a lousy poker player but prefer never show my hand. I would rather carry concealed and not allow a potential thug/adversary to do any advance planning.

So here's another way of looking at the same thing. I would rather carry open as a deterent. By my thinking, CC increases your chances of being targeted, as you appear to be an unarmed person.

Honestly, I like the idea of open and concealed carry. If I were given the chance (Florida has no open carry, hope to get the law changed here), I would consider open carry most of the time.

You are going to get the nay sayers about the open carry, but it is a responsibility just like anything else and I like to think I am responsible. Back in North Carolina when growing up, you could carry open (and I think you still can), but most people didn't.

Check out opencarry.org. http://www.opencarry.com/

Funny, they call themselves org, but have the .com !!!:D

You can check out your states laws concerning open carry.

Take care,

Kelly

Don't worry about how the gun looks. Worry about your outfit! ;)

But seriously, no gun is ugly if it works. I've open carried with a Cobray M12 (a slightly smaller/weaker MAC 10 variant) in a cheapie nylon holster, but if you look presentable it doesn't matter.

So what's the point? Fasion or open carry? From you post it appears that fasion is.

IMHO, if you carry open in most places, people will call the cops on you and that is no fun even if open carry is legal. That is the conditioning of our society in most places. Why not get a CCW, or as they call it in KY, a CCDWL

We don't live in a vaccuum. Concealed carry makes alot more sense to me. If you can open carry, which I assume is fine with your state, then what do you care what it looks like? If not, who cares?

If I missed the point, please enlighten me. I am not your enemy. I just want to know why you are postulating the question. Thanks

Hey the aluminum foil gag I used myself at a S&W collectors meeting last year . I got a few 'WHAT THE HELL' looks myself until I unwrapped the aluminum foil from my genuine nickled plated 19-3 .

Well Russ,

You wear shoes primarily to protect your feet right? Is there any reason they shouldn't be more than purely utilitarian items of clothing? Is there some sin in wanting them to have a little aesthetic appeal too?

Some places open carry is perfectly acceptable, and in those places if all else is equal - why not carry a good looking gun in a good looking holster?
