It means they are not absolutely perfect, such that they are sold to the public at a discount.

Why they don't cannibalize these guns for the parts that are in spec, I don't know. Perhaps they require a degree of fitting that makes that impossible.

The factory seconds have and upside down "Y" as part of the serial number. Most people that I have talked to that own them say they either can't find anything or that they would not have found the blem if it was not pointed out to them. The best part is the factory seconds is that they are still are covered by DW warrenty

Interesting thread. I was looking at these. Not sure I want a stainless though. I like a nice blued or pakerized 1911. But the Bobtail commander does look like a nice shooter.

I hear alot of people talking about parkerized. is that the same thing as a flat black combat finish, kinda like a nitron finish???

I have the PM7 and it is my favorite gun and the one I shot the best with, although there may be a tie with the ruger Mark III hunter with some work done on it. Every gun is different, but my PM7 is the cat's meow.

Buy the way, I test shot my new Sig P232 this weekend. It was great. About 70 rounds with three different types of FMJ with not problems. Nice little pistol.

I just want to know where someone else can get that screaming deal! That's mighty impressive. I'd buy one today-

It's a blem pistol. There's a tiny little spot on the frame near the grip.. I actually had to hunt for it. There's an upside-down Y looking symbol half-way between the serial number and the hole for the slide release. The sticker on the box (with model / serial etc) had "BLEM" handwritten on it.

I also buy a fair amount of pistols and rifles (I'm a CZ addict) from this dealer and he takes good care of me.

I'm glad I got this blem... within 48 hours of purchasing it, I walked into a doorknob and scuffed the top of the bead-blasted slide. Within a few hours after that, I whacked the pistol with an aluminum ladder while hanging it (the ladder) up in the garage.

No more open carry with this pistol...although it's given me an excuse to pick up a bead blasting cabinet...

I will say with confidence that the blems get the same exacting fit and finish treatment as the non-blems. If you're getting a carry gun, look for a blem.... if you're like me, you'll ding it up in short order anyway.

Hey blem pistol or not that's a bargin deal and one that can't be complained about. I wish that I could find a deal like that, hell my wallet would be full.

I have 7 Dan Wesson 1911's. I love those guns, probably more than anything else I own.

However, I'm leaning towards getting rid of all my handguns. If I was going to have a handgun, I'd want it to be a Dan Wesson.
