How long ago did you mail off your packet. I sent mine in on July 22, and want an idea of how long I can expect it to take.

dracphelan, I wouldn't hold your breath until you get a letter telling you that they got the application. After you get that you can check online with a P.I.N. they give you.
Now all that's left to do is find a holster for my EM...yeah, it's a big carry piece, but I really don't go out that often.

In CT, it usually takes 1-2 weeks to backround check you and clear you for your permit...
However, it takes 8 weeks or more for them to let you come pick it up because,,,,,,, Well because they can.

I am in Texas, and the DPS is really backed up with applications right now. Mine took 117 days from the time I dropped the application in the mail til the license arrived. Mailing time after approval was 3 days.

Yikes!! You mailed in your application packet on July 22 and you haven't gotten a PIN yet? My GF and I mailed our packets in at the same time via certified USPS (8/22). We received the delivery conformation from the post office stating that the DPS signed for our packets on 8/25....and yesterday we recived THE letter from the DPS (dated 8/29) stating that the are processing our application and provided us with the PINs. I'd give em a call If I were you....something sounds off.

IT HAS ARRIVED!! So, the letter they sent me was dated August 11th and I just got it today....so around a month from when the letter arrives. I still need a holster though...
