I was thinking about signing up my wife as an NRA member. She has just got into the shooting sport (skeet)recently and is pro-gun because of me. She is now showing some interest in Handgun shooting:):.

My Question is how many NRA members have signed up their wife also? Or do you feel one membership in the family is enough?

I never did, but a lot of people I know do, as it gets them an extra magazine every month, along with giving a bit extra to the NRA. My old boss got both First Freedom and American Rifleman because of his wife, though she never reads it.:p Some sign up the whole family.

Not the spouse, but I signed both of my sons up. Maybe I should sign the wife up also.

I don't always agree with NRA positions, but they are the gorilla inside the beltway by virtue of their membership numbers. The urban-area congress-weasels can perhaps ignore them, but most have to at least think about those numbers when contemplating anti-rights legislation.

My wife is proud of her Life Membership and carries her card.

She also signed us up for NRA plates for our vehicles.

Good woman.

She has her CDWL, but has not decided to carry yet.

Personally, I'd rather join on my own than have someone else sign me up for membership in any organization. So I'd say you should encourage her to get her own membership.

My wife does her own "signup" for the NRA, and has for years. We are both on the local Friends of the NRA banquet committee. By all means, have her sign up on her own, or by your effort. The NRA (and other gun/Second Amendment Rights groups) need all the help they can get, and gender should have no bearing on that membership. :)
