BLACK!!! I just got "well on a 10 day wait" for my springfield loaded M1a i went with all black and synthetic stock. Im going to get a wood stock for that classic look as well.

Safe queen?

My M1a loaded is wooden. I even took off the plastic heat shield and put on a wooden one. It went on my last deer hunt. Got a few scrapes in it but nothing that I didn't shrug off. It has gone to the range several time and even been used to scare off really fast jack rabbits. Now, I have also shot and played around with a Socom that was a blast. But they have two different purposes. It really depends on what you want. I got wood because I love the beauty and nostalgia of it. My buddy got the black stock because he is more into the tacticool stuff with rails lights and all that jazz. I will post some pics when I get home from work.

I went with the black synthetic. However, I will soon upgrade to a laminated stock, most likey from Boyds.

With the synthetic you won't mind so much drilling a hole to mount a rail or whatever you have in mind. I ended up adding an adjustable cheek rest on mine from Desert Warrior Products. (SA Loaded)

I'd get the wood and a Sage stock later on if you want to try something more e-vil.

+1 on that

I would go wood, Im more of a classic rifle guy, later if you want something more tacticool, get a Sage stock.

Wood! The M1A is a classic rifle - make it look classic! If you wanted a black rifle, you should have gotten an AR. :)

For the scout squad, I'd go black and tacticool it out a bit. That's coming from someone who is a big fan of classic wood.

Wood! The walnut stock makes the M1A the best-looking rifle in the world. The black plastic stock makes it look like a pellet gun.

It's a scout squad its not a classic go black and upgrade to wood later man.

Kind of Blued I'd get the wood and a Sage stock later on if you want to try something more e-vil.

That's what I did

Gotta go with wood. Some rifles look ok with a plastic stock, the M1A isn't one of them. A wood stocked M1A is one of the prettiest rifles around. A M1A in a Lego stock is one of the ugliest rifles around. Just my .02, though.

Great pic! My first M1A "Loaded" was wood and stainless...wow, it was nice! That I miss. My second M1A "Loaded" was fiberglass. I never warmed up to the fiberglass. It didn't fit me the same.
