I need to clean my AR in a little bit as I went shooting this morning and tonight I'm going to see Stephen Pearcy of Ratt play at a local club. Guess I'll get a chance to see how much metal chicks like CLP.

I got a kick out of this thread. My wife really likes the smell of Hoppes #9. When I'm in the basement cleaning guns, she often comes down and says something like, "Mmmmm! What's that cologne you're wearing?" I thought it was just her!

I read about a company that was attracting very few people to its booth at a trade show until one of the guys sprinkled Hoppe's No. 9 on the carpet. Foot traffic suddenly went through the roof.

I dare anyone to wear Hoppes No. 9 and stand next to a bee hive.
The famous Hoppes aroma comes from isopentenyl acetate which is the chemical in Juicy Fruit and also the same chemical released by bees when they sting encouraging other bees to attack. Believe it or else.

If you'll excuse me, I'll be clearing out every stock of Hoppe's #9 I can find within 100 miles. I'm sorry, NJ shooters, but my love life is more important than the cleanliness of your guns.

Women go for someone like there dad?? BS, I am nothing like my father in law, thank god. My wife can't stand her dad. But my wifes does get frisky after time at the range, and a good gun cleaning session, hmmmmm.

I am a father and I think it is a honor to have them want someting that reminds them of me. Even if it something as simple as Hoppes no.9.

If they like their dad, they sub-consciously look for similar traits. So I've been told. My wife says (laments) all the time that she married her dad.
Well, I can live with concept with my wife I suppose.

Just as long as she doesn't turn into her Mother.......

ewwww.... :(

I once dated a girl that got frisky when she smelled "good and plenty" candy. If I gave her some, it was like a gave her a drug that turned her into a nympho. I kept it to myself for years because I didn't want people to think my girlfriend was a freak. But then years later, years after we broke up, I read somewhere about some kind of scientific study on foods that stimulate men's sex drives. The study was prompted by the old saying: "the best way to a man's heart is through his stomach". So they did this study to see if there was anyting to that old saying. Well, I don't remember the foods they claimed were the most effective. But at the end of the paper, there was a comment that they did the same experiement on women just for comparison.

What was the findings?

Food had absolutely no effect on women's libido except for one item....YEP...good and plenty candy. And the researchers could not explain why. They tried to isolate the ingredients in the candy to determine what the heck was doing it and they came up empty handed. Good and plenty candy is basically black licorice with a hard candy coating. Black licorice by itself turns women off. The hard candy coating by itself was ineffective either way. But put the two together and WHAMO! It's like catnip to kittycat.

I forgot my conclusion to this whole post. I meant to say I'm going to try using #9 AND good and plenty and see what happens.

That same study showed that almost every food turns men on. There were maybe 3 that turn us off. As for using goodnpleny with hoppes it'll be like one of those AXE commercials where the guy is assaulted by an entire squad of cheerleaders.

So, let me be the first to ask, what is the best gun and caliber combination to defend against a swarm of confused bees? :neener:

Another reason for the Walmart walk; they sell both Hoppe's 9 and Good and Plenty candy.

Hope we make it out of the store :)

I live alone with two cats, and my apartment generally smells of three things......Barbecue, cooked sausage, and Hoppe's #9. All I need now is some Juicyfruit, some Good & Plenty, and a woman who's interested in scientific research! ;)
