Sounds as if the OP is referring to a H&K P7. They made one (P7M10) in .40 for a brief time and it is now quite costly. It has a very bulky slide compared to the slim 9mm versions.

I think he means that palm pistol where you squeeze the whole thing to make it go off. Called the "Lemon Squeezer?"

Anyhow, I don't remember the model but a long time ago a buddy bought a revolver in.38 Rimfire along with a box of ammo. We had a fun time betting whether the next cartridge would go off.

He discovered he had a bad flinch.

And boy, did those old cartridges stink.

I kind of like the smell of black powder but whatever those old cartridges were primed with smelled like the belches and farts of all the demons of hell.

Weirdest I have shot is one that I own.

Its a custom rifle, built on a 1935-ish Martini Cadet receiver. Looks like a mini version of the Martini-Henry rifle. Because that's what it is.

It shoots a wildcat cartridge--.357mag pistol brass necked down to .17.

Its a purpose-built whistle pig gun. (Whistle pig = Columbian ground squirrel. Think of a 1/4 scale prairie dog.) The rifle is the size and weight of a Red Ryder bb gun, but shoots varmits out well over 100 yards.

I inherited the rifle. I would never have thought of such a thing on my own.

My Colt Python came with "Checkered Grips" that tore the skin from my palm. I bought some A.J. Scott target grips and saved my skin for other uses. Some aftermarket accessories make a BIG difference in comfort. cliffy

For me, 9mm Win Magnum is the oddest cartridge. Oddest gun was the Jo Lo Ar in 9mm Largo.

My buddy had a spud gun. That was fun. I shot more wild pears than potatos though.

I have a .22 WCF Winchester 1885 single shot. Basically the precurser to .22 Hornet, but it's an odd one. Between the rifle and the round, it's a tack driver.

I fired a single shot .22 pistol a guy had. It was kind of like a miniature break-open shotgun and had a hair trigger. It was nifty, though. I wish I remembered what it was.

Civil war Napoleon cannon. Sonovagun was LOUD. I think it was the only time I ever hit something out to 200 yards.

I once fired a sporterized(60s vintage I think, but it could've been a 50s vintage sporterization) mauser chambered for 8mm-06. That's an 8mm mauser slug in a 30-06 cartridge. This rifle had a huge old one-power scope on it...that's right, zero magnification. And the cross hairs were really made out of hair. Camel hair I think. Anyway, the horizontal "hair" was missing. You only had the vertical "hair". You had to guess where the middle of the vertical "hair" was to hit what you wanted to hit.

nothing too exciting for me. 9mm Makarov is about as exotic as I've shot. I did have a spud gun chambered in 1.5 CAM (thats Crab Apple Magnum) but my mom tossed it when I went to college. Might be another project...

Weirdest gun I own and fire regularly is the Vetterli I converted to centerfire.
