LOL. I just watched "Reefer Madness" and then stumble onto this thread.

I would love to get my hands on some stalks that size. They would probably have made awesome bowstrings. All the hemp cordage available commerially is junk.

Is there a season on drug pushers? What's the limit? A shoulder mount might be cool. :D

Just dry the leaves, sell 'em, buy a nice compound bow or five. Cordage? ROFLMAO!

If you can get some, 2,4D is the stuff you need. Round up might work. "Knock, knock." "Who is it?" It's Dave, man, I got da stuff." "Dave? Dave's not here." ................

A brother-in-law and I found some pot during early teal season several years ago. We were floating a small stream and walking overland on curves and bends and had done well finding those little teal just setting there in quiet waters. He was walking and I was in the boat when he came running down to the shore yelling to get the &^^&&**&($%%#& out of there as he had stumbled onto someone's pot patch. We sure didn't want to risk a gunfight over a teal so called it quits.

i was dove huntign last year and man it was the best hunting i have ever seen wave after wave were coming into a tall brush area then leaving for water

after we got our limits we decided to see what was growing that they wanted so bad...POT more correctly ditchweed not alot just 3-4 plants about 5ft tall but man those birds were hammering it

...

When i lived in the KY, VA, TN Triangle, deep in the sticks of Appalachia
as an exchange student... my host family had a great house
with national forests starting right behind the house.....

...when squirrel season started friendly neigbors introduced
me to huntin´ ... gave me Fox Savage 16ga double and
a Dan Wesson 8" .357 as my guns for the year :)what:)
and just told me that a smartass
well-educated young man like me would easily teach himself.

They told me the 4 rules...., AND they told me not to wander
deeper into the woods than like 2 miles and not to climb too
far up those steep hills... as the Bluegrass-State has many
Rednecks... some Ex-Vietnam ... that are commercially
growing pot as their only means of income....

...stories of armed-sentrys in harvest-season and grenade-bobbytraps
 reinforced that warning......

Being only 16 years of age and a european citykid
i was smart enuff to follow their advice...

( .. oh man, i wish i was there now and could go huntin´instead
of sitting in my darn office.... a wallyworld box of No.4 ... some Dip...
...*sigh*)

Paintballdude makes a good point. Hemp seeds are very attractive to birds--in fact, in the debate over some of the original Federal marijuana/hemp legislation, birdseed producers testified that banning hemp would be destructive to their industry, because the hemp seed was particularly beneficial to birds.

'Course, the charge to ban industrial (non-psychoactive) hemp was led by William Randolph Hearst, who owned timber land to be used for paper, and he didn't want competition from hemp.

Ah, money, the root of all stupid laws.

In any event, while I'd certainly turn in a pot/hemp field on my own property (for liability reasons), I'd probably just take note of one on public property and remember to go visit it come dove season. No sense letting it go to waste.

...

having guerilla farmed myself i can assure you,
that cattle as well as deer like hemp very much.

...i once found a few lethargic cows instead
of my blooming plants.

..no giggling deer spotted... yet. :)

Everyone be careful. They even booby-trap their crop.

One video showed a 12 shotgun shell rigged with a trip wire released RAT trap. The wire bar on the trap was rigged with a nail, which whacked down into the primer of the shell, which was held in a piece of pipe. Very nasty stuff. Be careful if you ever run into those areas. :banghead::banghead::banghead::what::what::what:

"Unless it's a pretty big patch, it's not someone "dangerous", most likely. It's a local kid who wants some weed without having to deal with a nasty-ass dealer (assuming the stuff's cultivated at all). I'd be more concerned about having a few stupid hippies tromping around and scaring away game, than about guys with machine guns."

Unfortunately, until a person accidently happens upon a grow, they don't know whether the person guarding it is a happy go lucky stoner, or an armed homicidal enforcer.

hopefully, it was just some kids trying to make a big score for them selfs. if it was a serious dope peddler, he might try to seek revenge. just keep your eyes and ears open for a while.

Is there a season on drug pushers?

Should be: Year 'round, no limit, no caliber restrictions, leave 'em where they fall. Confronted an <idiot> back home a few years back that had "enlisted" a niece as a regular "client." He couldn't speak clearly-enough through a wired jaw for the next couple months to say <boo>. Always wondered if he ever got embarrassed getting throttled by an "old man" (which is what he happened to call this old Montana red-neck cowboy at the time) . . .

The Bluegrass state has many rednecks that grow legal crops as their only means of income too! I'm one of them. If they don't quit picking on tobacco I may be one of the others one day. Not a Nam vet but am a vet and a Ranger to boot.

I live in the middle of California's Emerald Triangle.I ALWAYS carry in the woods.I'd never mess with any body's stuff, but there are illegals armed with pump shotguns as guards. If I go down ,it won't be without some shots fired. That said, why don't they decriminalise the stuff, and put the commercial growers out of buisness?

I have two hundred acres in the Florida panhandle from time to time someone will set up shop on my land its funny somehow the sheriff seems to find them tied up but naked in the woods and their vehicles on fire I have no idea how this happens as I’m in Miami when this sort of thing happens, I think it could be big foot.

Part of me, though, would hate to do it, because I have no desire to support the stupid "war on drugs" that saps my tax dollars, gives jobs at my expense to thugs and bureaucrats, and robs us of our civil liberties (including the "us" like me who don't use any illegal "substances" at all).

+1!

The only reason I would ever call is if it was my own property. Live and let live.

Why did it take an amendment to the Constitution to ban alcohol, but not for something as harmless and ubiquitous as pot?

Cmon, there is enough BS floating around on the internet, we dont need more. Its kind of funny, everyone expect the mexican cartel to be running around. If you see less than 100 plants, its not a big gang with gun runners.

A week ago they found almost 900 plants on private land just outside of town. The owner is elderly so it was done by trespassers, they had a camp set and irrigation. Sheriff said it was worth $1,000,000 I don't know why they didn't leave it there and stake it out.

AHH!! The wild wood weed......... I've never seen our S.O. sit on a patch long enough to catch the farmer. They will just go in and pull it up. A few years back there was a goot crop growing on city owned property and it was watered by a fire plug. For some reason there wasn't much of an investigation, wonder why?
