One of the best places in the UK to obtain pretty much any BP Pistol is here

Just get your local gun shop to phone them and order your gun. If it’s a Uberti they typically take 3 months to arrive.

I feel for you in England, I really do. Just wanted to extend the invitation that if you ever wanted to fire a semi-automatic cartridge rifle, pistol, etc. You are more than welcome to with me.

SG's asking about the exchange rate between the English pound & the US$. Our keyboards don't have the symbol for the (currency) pound on them, but the # sign most of the English-speaking world uses as an abbreviation for 'number' is used here as a replacement for the 'lb' abbreviation for pounds.

OI! corned beef, potatos, carrots, and cabbage are the greatest foods on earth. besides my mexican food (if you like your tounge, i dont recomend eating my cooking. i eat habenaros like candy). but, when you come back to the great state of Arizona and your in the phoenix area. PM me. get you shooting some o' the guns irish republicans used. dont worry, its safe (an uncle of mine is english-south african, so we learned to put up with "tea time" )

lol. ever listen to robin william's bit called "never go drinking with a scotsman"? if you havent, look it up, it's very funny. personaly i have no issue understanding scot-speak. but im a mix of irish, scottish, and saxon-welsh(the people who lived there before the norman's invaded) so i kinda have a advantage thanks to family heritage.

but really, all gaels are welcome to come. brits also accepted on a case-to-case basis.

(if someone feels im ragging on the british, i am. but it's all in good fun, no malic intended. even if Britain's rulers/politicians/subjects oppressed my ancestors for 700 years...)

Thanks bonza…. well at the moment it’s about 1.85 dollars to the pound, which is still quite good for us of course.

But the financial problems in the States are starting to trickle over to here. So it’s not as good as earlier in the year when I was in Orlando and it was just under 2 dollars to the pound. Coupled that with the fact that everything is cheaper than in the UK anyway and I was in ‘seventh heaven!!’ I walked around your shopping malls with ‘eyes like dinner plates’

We have a saying in the UK ‘Make hay while the sun shines!!’ and that’s just what I did. Bought loads of clothes and had a great time in Bass Pro where I brought back loads of shooting accessories – no Firearms sadly but at least I got to see cases of handguns - which, believe it or not was what it used to be like in our gunshops before the handgun ban.

I’m coming over to New York for a few days next Spring and then onto DC. The main problem I have is when to buy my dollars. The other good thing is that with the handgun bans there I should feel at home and equally as safe …

One thing I can say about your country though is it’s just AWESOME!!!!!!!

After reading Rutherford's Princes of Ireland and Rebels of Ireland, I believe I am too with probably a bit of Spanish and Moor thrown in.

Two lovely people showed up here on the Oregon coast, Jacqui and her son.
Her son went nuts with our freedoms, I heard many stories of how it will be after osama bin hussein gets our country under his boot! Gun shows where all you get to see are military weapons. "You can have a two two" (What they call a .22, or in Amerispeak a "twenty two") Jacqui said, but you have to belong to a club. You can have an airsoft, but don't show it about! Sickening!

Like being raised in a nursery and never getting out. (No offense intended)

(i was thinking more along the lines of the Armalite AR-18, AK-47, assorted semi-auto handguns in numerous calibers, and assorted revolvers in several calibers. not the place or time to argue though)

Calibre 44, Pleased to help, & I know what you mean about the stores over here! I was born in the UK, but my parents decided to get out while the going was good & took the family to Australia when I was eleven. My exposure to firearms in my younger years were the 'Pop-Gun' that I had to have my Mom recock for me while she was pushing me around in my pram, the holstered pair of 'Colt .45' cap guns that were seemingly a permanent part of my wardrobe, if old photos are anything to go by(!), & lastly a plastic FN-FAL from Woolies that fired plastic bullets (spring powered) that I could effectively keep the family dog hunkered down behind the pouffe with! Come to think of it I did once sneak a peak at my Dad's BSA 'Meteor' that he kept in his wardrobe, but sold not long after I'd made the discovery.
Luckily for me, my Mom was the more adventurous one, & when we were down under she bought me a Slavia air rifle for $15 when I was legally old enough to own a 'real' gun (15!). From there it was all down-hill & I got seriously into competition shooting on a local, State, & National level by the time I was nineteen.
I moved to the U.S.A. before Australia went really anti-gun, but have been back three times in the last fifteen years. Still a great place to live if your interests are solely target shooting, but the U.S. is were it's really at for all the other aspects.
I'm almost exclusively a black powder shooter now & a member of the USIMLT. The only 'modern' guns I own are my S&W carry gun & a No.4 Lee Enfield .303, 'cos that's what my Dad used in the Army back in the '50s.
