Painted first charms today

Not much typing. hand is hurt. Pic worth 1000 words.

Deer Hunter...pretty neat looking "custom paint job". It DOES give that rifle a whole lot of character.

I get the drift, though. I'm no professional painter, and it's a rough job, but I'm having a great time doing it! I'll be finishing it up tonight.

It looks...like you made it with love. Your girl should really dig all the time and effort (and creativity) you put into this for her. That's what girls like: thoughtfulness.

So kudos to you!



PS: She's right. Lucky Charms is the best cereal in the world.
 
Finished the painting tonight. I'll give it two days to dry, then I'll spray on a few layers of polyeurothane. That should make it hold together well.
 
More pix when the poly-coat dries, OK? ? ?

Certainly makes that a 'one-of-a-kind' 10/22.
 
She's gettting the rifle tonight!

Finished up the third polycoat today. Put the rifle back together, replaced batteries in the red-dot (I hate leaving those things on!), and took a few pictures.

In my own perfect opinion, this is the coolest rifle in the world. Deal with it. :)

Pardon the shakey camera in some pictures. A broken finger'll do that to you.
 
Very nice, i'd love to have this rifle :p. You missed a spot near where you feed the mag. but its awesome. How did you break your finger?
 
Oh, yeah, the mag-catch-finger-thing. I didn't paint it because it was covered in tape. One of those little brain farts. Oh well.

Broke my finger playing football. I've got it splinted with a 7.62 NATO stripper clip and medical tape.

I bet she'll love it.

I think that was a great idea, and I am sure you put a lot of work into it. Unfortunately your artistic skills are much like my own:barf:

Why not use some stencils at least?
 
It means more coming from his own hand.

At any rate, I like it. :) Now, you just gotta fix that mag. It appears to be empty...
 
If you still need molecular and cell biology books, let me know what the ISBN's are. I have a bunch from the last couple years, maybe something you need.
 
Looks great man:cool:. It is giving me ideas for something for my wife... she would love something like that. maybe not the lucky charms but every woman deep down would love a unique custom rifle :D
