I applied for and got a C&R however, they had misspelled my name. I called the local ATF, had to leave a message. They got right back to me and told me to send it back with a letter explaining why. He gave me the address etc. and I sent it back in. That was 2 weeks ago, they called me on Friday and told me the correction has been made and she will be sending it back out on Monday. I should have it by Thursday or Friday.

The point is, how many government agencies are that helpful let alone communicate that well? My run in's with government agencies has never been that good. It was an actual pleasure in dealing with them.

Now I'll have to get those accounts at Midway, Brownells and SOG ;)

More than likely it depends on the person answering the phone not the particular office of government. But good for you none the less.

All my experiences dealing with BATFE and subsequently with the FBI (for doing NICS and electronic NICS registration) has been extremely positive. These are some of the nicest and most helpful folks around. Unlike other branches of Big Brother (IRS in particular) these two entities are wonderful to work with.

Under the current administration they are nice. . . I hope it does not change.

:)

You'll find jerks in every organization, and in some more than others. BATFE is no exception. I even know some good folks that are in/with the IRS.

For the record, these guys have always been responsive, informative and polite when I contacted them.

Bureaucracy is potentially a nightmare, where ever you find it.

I wish i could say anything positive about my run ins w/ the ATf, but I wont tell a lie LoL

Been hearing a lot of people latley being treated well by them though

"I called the local ATF..."

Properly stated, that's the BATF. They don't like it proper, but that's the way it is.
