Favorite Female RKBA role model on TV?

As far as onscreen goes, I'd say Emily Deschanel as Temperance Brennan would be at or near the top.

I am a great admirer of Milla Jovovich and Summer Glau, though. And I think it's interesting (and incredibly cool) that Ms. Jovovich is also a talented singer, and that Ms. Glau is a classical ballet dancer (which was actually how she got her first acting break, in Angel, I think).

And yes, I am a fellow Sarah Connor Chronicles junkie. That and Bones are my two must-watch shows, though I also enjoy House. (Which, as an aside, has to have the best theme music on television---"Teardrop" by Massive Attack is perfect for that opener.)

I would say Emily Proctor as Calleigh Duquesne on CSI Miami. I have no idea if the actress is pro-2A in real life, but I love her character.

Does anyone know if Ms. Proctor has stood up for gun rights?

in the season opener a few weeks ago, john grips glock with his entire strong hand (including trigger finger) below the trigger guard, then brings his weak hand up and puts that finger on the trigger. most bizarre grip i'd ever seen.

Maybe he's left handed? Other than that I agree the way the cast handles guns on the show makes it crystal clear that they have no clue.

Gabrielle Anwar playing Fiona, the "tigger happy ex-girlfirend" on Burn Notice. There isn't a weapon on the show she's not happy to deploy.

As far as characters, I was going to go with Fiona or Ziva on NCIS, but decided to vote for Ellie May Clampett.

2. She is shown routinely practicing her marksmanship and every time she observes safe gun handling practices and uses eye and ear protection.

Really? When? I see just the opposite, she purchases a 500 Smith and Wesson snub nose and just dumps it into the purse. She states 'bigger is better right? The booth character is always telling her to 'watch it with that thing!' (he used to sometimes hand her his backup handgun, but one time she shot him in the leg with it) I don't recall seeing an episode where she is at a range with it but I do recall one episode where kids are disappearing at a traveling fair's house of horrror. They get the badguy cornered, Temprence shoots twice and misses badly (although she doesn't act up the huge recoil the gun would have) and says 'this gun is too big for me' Booth then gives her his gun to protect the girl as Booth goes after the bad guys...who is a marine or something and knows Booth has 3 shots left, Booth wastes 2 shots and then shoots through the guys protective cover with his last shot, killing him.

So no, I don't see the character she portrays as a good RKBA model. If anything, I get the vibe her character would think it is perfectly fine for her to have a gun because she is calm and logical, but that most people couldn't be trusted, when it seems just the opposite to me, she is wildly unsafe, and likes the idea of shooting people to get info from them etc.

Masiela Lusha would be my choice, although I don't know a ton about her 2nd amendment stance. While she is best known for playing Carmen in the TV show George Lopez, she is in fact an Albanian-American with no latino heratige. She is the youngest author to publish a book in 2 languages, and runs a charity devoted to helping homeless kids

I can't seem to get this one to link, but it is from IMDB, shooting at the range

I've done an extensive search on the gorgeous Ms. Proctor's view on gun right's,Intrepid Dad, and so far have come up dry.
However,I've encountered several interesting pic's of the lady which I unfortunately cannot share with you on this family oriented website!:D
But my investigations(which I do in real life) will continue and will not stop until we found out her position. She seem's to be shielding her political views very closely as opposed to her photo op's.
I'm leaning towards this Raleigh,NC gal being on our side.
Will report further if breaking developments warrant.
10/7.

Megan Kelly of the Faux news chanel. She's beautifull, smart, and classy. I've heard her stand up for the 2A on several occasions.

from the resident evil films. she is a shooter and strong supporter of 2A

Yessir, i agree :)

And i will add:

That 70's Show
Laura Prepon

laura-prepon-2.jpg

In an interview with Stuff Magazine: Lately, she’s been spending her free time playing with her newest toy: a Mini-14 semiautomatic rifle. “I love the energy you feel when you shoot,” she says. “Some people get a little freaked out by it, but I am so into guns.”

Jill Wagner, the Ford/Lincoln/Mercury girl :)

Mercury-Jill-Wagner.jpg

She is an avid gun enthusast and has a number of guns in her collection. Among the guns Jill owns, a Kimber Raptor .45, a Colt .45 and a Ladysmith.

Eva Longoria

PETA got mad at her for saying “(I was) hunting with my dad since I was six. I still go with him to this day. I can handle a gun. Hello? Yes. I could skin a deer, I could skin a pig. I can pluck a quail—you name it, I’ve done it. I’m a pioneer woman,” on Oprah.

Someone better tell ol pioneer woman Eva that her choice for pres would be the worst thing to happen to shooters since this country was founded.

Someone talked about Summer Glau. Didnt know she was pro...

This girl is amazing.. I do not think she is beautiful as other woman can be, but she has something special that I cannot define that make her terribly attractive (for me at least..)

about that 70 show.. I never suspected one of those hippie wanabees to love guns ! Such a sweet surprise !

role model

Glad to see Leslie Easterbrook mentioned. Booster of shooting in the hollywood crowd.
May be some old farts here who remember an early sixties TV show called Honey West.
Anne Frances colud handle a gun. Had a pet Ocelot.

regarding john connor's gun handling, Treo wrote:

maybe, but would you put your weak hand underneath the strong hand? or more accurately, would you present the gun with your weak hand and then put your strong hand over it?

like i said, it was the most bizarre grip i'd ever seen.

Duke, you're a great American. Please report back with any updates and I'll do the same.

Good thread!

Gabrielle Anwar as Fiona on Burn Notice. No teevee character is as comfortable with mayhem as Fiona.

Mary McCormack as Mary Shannon on In Plain Sight. Her character carries a Glock 22 and a Glock 27, and refers to them by their model numbers.

Another vote for Honey West.

A second vote here for Mary McCormick on In Plain Sight. The episode where she pulled out her Glock from an ankle holster to save herself had me trying to figure out just how she hid a GLOCK in there for a week .

But Fiona on Burn Notice runs a close second.

Re: Temperance Brennan...keep in mind that (1) she's not FBI, even if she's partnered with Booth and (2) she's in D.C. I don't know if the show's writers ever took into account that she'd never have been allowed her own gun in D.C. unless it was somehow as law enforcement, but I've always thought that it's a little odd the way it keeps getting written in. Either she's a sworn officer and can carry there, or she's not and she can't. No pre-Heller exceptions make much sense.

(But I still love the show.)

Well, it was a 27...
