I have been all over the internet looking for GOOD QUALITY magazines for my M1 Carbine. I want four 15 round mags, either USGI or new ones Here is what I have learned.

CMP and Fulton don’t sell them.

Gun show mags are nearly all inferior after-market versions and not reliable. Even ones with proper USGI markings are usually counterfeit.

Real USGI mags from internet sources are often so rusty they are useless, even if they have been in storage and were never issued. Some may be good, but it is a crap-shoot.

New after-market mags are often inferior and not reliable.

I found new ones by ProMag, but posters at THR have called them junk.

Here is a new one from an unknown manufacturer but has a guarantee.

Do you have any experience with the two I have linked or have other sources to suggest?

Shameless for sale plug, but if it helps you out...

I've got two USGI 15 rounders listed for sale right now:

Probably can even let two more magazines go for the 4 total mags you're after. PM me and we'll work out a package deal.

Thanks,
Dave

ProMags have lifetime guarantees

If they fail they will replace them and recently their quality(since 06/7) has been great

FWIW I was able to buy USGI (still in greasepaper)15 round mags at the last gunshow I was at. It did take a bit of looking . ..but they're absolutely flawless.

Dave

Fulton does sell carbine mags. Go to the M1 Carbine pages and the parts and accessories section. They are located towards the bottom in the accessorries and tools section. I bought the 10 pack of the 15 rounders from them and they have all worked great.

WoofersInc

You are absolutely right. I looked through there and missed them. Thanks.

Happy buyer

I bought four mags from dafitch. He's a good guy to deal with.

Rocky

I recently bought my first M1 Carbine so I'm just learning about mags. The word on the internet is that many gun show mags are not USGI, even when they have the markings. I'll be looking at the next show to see if I can spot the real ones. Meanwhile I needed mags now and dafitch set me up good.

I'm surprised anyone makes commercial 15-rndrs. There should be heaps of GI ones still out there.
