Why is it every time someone posts something someone else doesn't agree with or like that person is immediately a "basher"?

Well thanks for the option sturm I will look into them as the NRA is not the only org. that I belong to. We are both doing something and lets leave it at that.

Another interesting tidbit of info.

After Katrina the local governments decided to confiscate firearms from the citizens. Can you name which pro-gun organizations filed emergency stay orders in federal court to stop the confiscations?

1) NRA
2) GOA
3) JPFO

But I'm a life member of GOA so I'm not inclined to impugn your preferences.

But I'm also life with NRA and plan on doing similar with the SAF this year. I knew they were there but didn't realize how effective they were until New Orleans.

The primary difference between us and the antis and that they don't engage in internecene sniping. I seldom (never) see VPC suggesting that your money is wasted with Brady or vice versa.

Only gunnies dissipate their energy by treating their sundry lobbying groups as adversarial. If the NRA annoys you I'm sure Gottlieb could use a hand.

Join as many pro-gun groups as you can. I am a NRA lifer and realize that they are not perfect, but they are right on the front lines. I also support the Second Amendment Foundation and GOA, both by membership and contributions. There are subtle ways of supporting your rights. Join a gun club(s), continue to buy guns and ammo, subscribe to as many gun rags as you can, and offer to take a non-gunner shooting.

I know it can seem that way at times, but rest assured I have read your comments with interest.

With regard to Heller, I do recall reading that the NRA sought to delay the case, in order to get it in front of more favorable justices. I don't know the details though, and thus can't vouch for the accuracy of this. Hopefully someone here knows the story.

Today, I

1) Upgraded my Texas State Rifle Association annual membership to a conditional life membership,

2) Made two extra payments on my NRA easy pay life membership, and will make monthly payments from now on, and

3) Made the first payment on a Gun Owners of America life membership.

Every gun owner should belong to at least one 2nd Amendment rights organization. Do it now...
