gold ak?!?!

How about some info on getting an AK gold plated.... I talked to a jeweler local to me that did rhodium plating but not gold, dunno anybody to me who does gold. How much does it cost? Any legal need to know info if you are sending a gun to get gold plated? I imagine the ATF would frown upon rifles being sent off to random gold plating operations.

I'm sure if someone here had one, it would have been posted. 'Bout the only golden AKs I know of are the ones that Saddam Hussein had. Plus a golden SVD. I can't find any at the moment, but there are pictures floating around of crates full of golden AKs.

I've got (very blurry) pix of one of Saddam's "gold-plated" AKs that he handed out to the party faithful. Only it isn't gold plated - it's gold anodizing. It's almost too pretty to shoot, and this one never was and never will be. I supervised the demil, and it then headed to an Air Force museum.

My uncle has a couple gold plated AK MAGs he got over in the sandbox. Couldn't bring the gun back.

They sure didn't do much of a polishing job before they plated it.

I wonder if someone's head rolled (literally!).

One of our interpreters in Iraq carried a chrome-plated krinkov. Said he got it of a Republican Guard officer. It was actually quite functional.

If you've ever been to the DEA museam in D.C. they have a hand gun on display from some south American drug lord that is either gold or silver plated and has a diamond encrusted grip

It's actually quite a simple formula. Whenever there is an extravagance on an AK, talk like you're from the Soviet Union.

That would have to take a toll on your barrel.

If you had jewel-based casings, you'd probably want to keep track of where they went after you shot your jewels.......down the barrel.

Wow, I really dig the chrome one. I wonder how much it would cost to get a Yugo underfolder chromed. Love the pistol grip too.
