These are the tightest, nicest functioning 1911s I have handled... and when in Mass I made it point to get to the Smith shooting center to spend time with their 1911DK as often as possible.
The Compact will be my wifes CCW. It will be getting some feminine customization. More to draw female attention at the range and try to interest other non shooting females in shooting sports and possibly self defense.
I usually open carry, so the Match will rotate with my S&W M21 for daily carry duty.
For those looking for a great 1911 at an affordable price, look into one of these 1911s.

Great looking guns!

I really want to get into the 1911 market, and I'm strongly considering the RIA. Have you heard anything about the double stack RIA 1911 (.45 ACP)?

I was also looking at the STI Spartan or the Taurus PT1911. How did you decide on the RIA?

My CZs keep multiplying in the safe, and it's limiting my other purchases!;)

I have heard they are pretty reliable as long as you use good magazines.
Rock Island supplies the slides and frames for the STI spartan, the RIA Match is hand fitted and is as close as I can afford to buying a custom high dollar 1911.
It was built to be an entry level competition gun.
The fact that I got it for $499 helps.
