Worst rifle paint job ever...

Not that the AK47 is an accurate rifle but I can't imagine a sling clipped onto the front sight tower would be good for accuracy.

If I had an AK too many and wanted to have fun, mine would top that. Pink and glitter...everywhere...

Enough rounds down the pipe, fast enough, might be enough heat to pull the canted sight to the left:D

though would be fun to see if you good make a senior NCO spontaneously combust with rage nearly happened when reconnaissance platoon took upon themselves to paint there weapons camo before the queens birthday parade.
what may be acceptable in combat isn't a good idea in barracks:D

Ha! I've actually met the owner of that rifle. He brought it to the range last month, and we had some fun tearing up paper with it. He himself admits that it isn't the finest paint job, but everybody seems to think that the AK is a rough, clublike excuse for a firearm anyway, so why are we suddenly getting upset that this one is blue and white? It still has that legendary AK reliability, and it's as accurate as an AK is supposed to be.

The paint job doesn't suit my taste, and it was flaking off in a couple of places. The aftermarket thumbhole stock had been roughly carved and sanded down to better fit the rifle's owner. Still, the thing went "bang" every time, and it threw the lead in the right direction.

The upshot of it all is that we got a female shooter who was not interested in long guns at all to try shooting it, and she had fun.

spiroxlii,

The rifle's functional ability is not the issue here.
It's that baboon-butt ugly paint job that's the issue.

Of course, it's the owner's rifle and he can do with it as he pleases just as we can comment on it as we please. Glad to see you concur. :neener::D

And now, to address a side issue:

'The AK-47 is barely capable of practical accuracy.'
It's a "Spray and Pray" only kind of rifle.
From forum to forum I see this fallacy touted in one way or another as if it's some kind of gospel truth.
For all who may believe the AK is a "rough, clublike excuse for a firearm", (not necessarily you, spiroxlii. I realize you were just pointing it out.) the following link should shed some light on that issue.
I'd recommend everyone read this article so we can begin putting this urban legend to rest. Hopefully once and for all.

All I want to know is this: How much is the owner asking for it?

Actually, he is willing to sell it. Underneath all that paint, it's a Norinco. I don't remember what he's asking. I didn't really care, because I just purchased my Colt LE6920 AR/M4 and I am too poor to buy another gun right now.

Hey, spiroxlii wrote that it goes, "Bang!"--I'm all for it. That a non-shooter took to it is an additional win.

Deer Hunter, that's really...ummm...bright.
