Marlin Model 60

I love my Marlin Model 60!

Just got one, yet to shoot it. Seems nice though!

I've always prefered my Dad's Marlin 60 to my Ruger 10/22.

I got a glenfield model 60. And a winchester pump action 22. I learned on the former(which was handed down to me by my dad), dad learned on the latter(which was handed down to me by his dad).

everyone know rugers suck.

Marlin 60 is the best economy .22 out there.

I've got a Marlin/ Glenfield 60. I love that little gun.

I started with a Glenfield model 6079 (Otasco store special). Everyone liked that so much I picked up a Marlin Model 60 for my daughter (17) and a Model 70 for my son (11).

Just got my 1st Model 60 a couple weeks ago. Dad gave it to me.

The Glenfield Model 60 was my first gun - I bought it when I was 16 at a pawn shop - that was 25 years ago. I still have it. Love it! Took it with me for plinking when I went bear hunting last month. Those aluminum cans never stood a chance!

The model 60 is a great rifle, I love shooting mine.

I love my marlin 60! Got mine for $50 OTD at a gunshow, best money I have ever spent for a firearm. Its crazy accurate, and loves the cheapie Federal bulk pack.

I got my 60 when I was 12. Unfortunately I had to sell it a couple years ago when I was out of work and needed food. Funnest rifle I have ever owned

I have a Glenfield/Marlin Model 60 that I got used from a local gun shop a while back. I love these older Glenfield ones, because they just seem to have more character than the current production ones. Mine has the squirrel carved into the stock and the 18rd tube magazine.

The new stainless one is pretty, but it has a shorter barrel and a 14rd magazine. I bet they're still accurate, but I like my long-barrel model just fine! The micro-groove rifling does its job.

My late dad has this Marlin Glenfield model 60, based on the serial number, I think it was made in 1980. On further search about this rifle and I found that there are five variants. I think my dad's is the classic original mod 60, its just the blued steel barrel and the stock has this squirrel curved on both sides. I have'nt fired it yet so when I saw the thread on how to dis-assemble it, I quickly followed the instruction so I can clean it. The trigger group is held by 3 metal screws, I think newer model has only one pin made of plastic on the rear while the front of the trigger group is just hanging on some kind of dowel pin. Anyway I'm looking to replace the hammer and the trigger guard. So my question is, does all the mod 60 variants have the same parts? I read that trigger guards on newer models are made of plastic, ours I think is aluminum alloy. On the Brownell website, when I check the trigger guard its says "fits 60SS" (I think this is the stainless steel). I know this is a cheap rifle, and I just hate to buy some parts which might end up as not fit to this particular model.

My 60 fits right in with it's brothers, the 1979 39A and the 1977 1894c in .357.

(I have the exact same Marlin .22 family as 76shuvlinoff, BTW, but my Mountie has a tapered octagon barrel.)

I sold my 10/22 after I bought the 60 and the 39A and found that I never shot the 10/22 again.

I bought my Model 60 with "birthday money" when I was 11. I still have it, and still shoot it. I used to shoot a 500 rd. brick throught it every week when in high shcool, and it's still running great.

Best $45 I have ever spent. It shoots great, too.

I miss mine. It was stolen, years ago, along with 14 others.

My 10/22 is not nearly as accurate as my old plinker; Hmm, I think I just discovered what I want for Christmas.

Just picked one up yesterday, brand new in box, $119.95. The wife loves her Christmas present already!
