Protected by 38 Special

Well, OK, but I'm not sure I would want to feed them ... :uhoh:

Seriously, I never put any firearms sayings or logos on my person, home or vehicle.

Kind of an oxymoron, ain’t it? I mean really..."protected", but a “.38 caliber”. Real protection doesn't even begin until at least .40 caliber or .45 caliber. I think the sign should read all criminals welcome...seriously under-gunned homeowner. I mean, really...why don't you just throw the bullets at interlopers.

:neener:

How's that JWarrnen? I thought you'd get a kick out of it. Serious note now. Don't post any sign. It would make gun owners look bad and redneck. We don't need the undue attention.

If you really need to post a sign, I'd buy one that says, "Protected by ADT or Brinks Security alarms", or what ever company that does alarms in your area. A crook will pass on an alarmed home for one that's not. You don't have to have an alarm, just the sign normally makes them consider someone else. You can even buy the signs on Ebay.

I copied this from somewhere

Drag a dead monte carlo onto your front lawn, set it up on blocks and pop the hood... maybe break the windshield out and pull the motor out with an engine lift and leave it sitting there. Then get some NRA bumper stickers for the back window

Nothin says "I am fully armed and will shoot at the first thing I see" like a hillbilly style yard. No one will ever break in to your house for fear that you are better armed than they are.

I like mine that has a pic of a dog that says "I can make it to the fence in 2.6 seconds, can you?"

Alright, after hearing some good arguments here, and reading my NRA "personal protection in te home" book, I've decided against posting any firearm signs. Might still get a "beware of dog" sign, but that might still signal to any crooks "bring a gun", so I'll have to think about it.

I lived for about 20 years 1 3/4 miles back a dirt road on a lake only used by weekenders in the summer. Kids were always breaking into places. I got this "Barking Dog" alarm that you aimed out the window, set it for how far you wanted it to start and if you got in that range it "barked" the closer you got the louder, more frequent and meaner the "barking" got. I was never broken into in all those years.

I would agree with others on here. Don't advertise that you are a gun owner, thieves will see it as a free lunch.

"Beware of Dog" would be far more effective even if you don't have a dog.

Get a Molon Labe tattoo and become a sheep handler. From what I read here, they're better than a set of Wonder Woman's bracelets.

Just some things that have occurred to me over the years...

THESE PREMISES PROTECTED
BY
JOHN M. BROWNING
SECURITY SERVICES

Actually, I also don't believe in any kind of advertising about firearms except that I carry HAC. I have that Browning sign on my wall inside the house, but more as a joke. All you've got to do is get in here and you'll know I have arms around anyhow (magazines, gun books, other firearms items lying around, the wonderful smell of Hoppe's Holy Water, etc.)

The plate is from a license plate generator I found somewhere on the net. No, it's not real.

Here's a sample from that site that I thought was "cute."

"Cute." Get it? "Cute." Drove me nuts for about ten minutes before I got a sudden rush of brains to the head and "got" it.

Duh. But I didn't have any hints from a generous, benificent, munificent benefactor, like I just gave you.

I saw a special on a gas station that had been robbed repeatedly......they got security system.....they stole the security system, they got 3 guard dogs, they killed the guard dogs....they replaced the guard dogs with 9 free range rattlesnakes, and put a sign in the window that read some thing like ...."premises protected by 9 Rattlesnakes even if you kill 8 it only takes one" They were never robbed again.

Post a beware of dog sign

Close...

Hand made sign: German Shepard (or Rottweiler), puppies for sale.

That will make them move on.

As for the ADT signs, many years ago, a guy knocked on my door ans told me a neighbor was robbed. If my neighbor was robbed, I would have known. He could not tell me where or when, just that it happened. He was selling $10 signs.

Five bonus points if you figure out the numbers, too.

You are going to let us,or at least me(if everyone else gets it already)know what "QT31416" stands for?
I have to admit that I've spent more than ten minutes, and have come up with things from "quit taking pie" to "quadrant totally circumferenced",and a whole lot of unmentionables in between.
