I had bought a used (police trade in) Glock 22 40 cal monday, took it out to test it today and shot 100 rds of Remington 180 gr MC I had got at Dicks with a gift card because thats all they had for the 40. I have never even shot a 40 cal or a glock, have always had 9's and 45's in the semi-auto category. I have to say it shot very well, was a little "snappy" but even my wife shot it quite well. I only shot out to 20yds but for being made in feb 01 and being a police trade in its still very accurate and will make a nice carry gun. Will probably get a rebuild kit eventually but other then more mags and ammo it should be good for now. But now after seeing this old one shoot so good, I want new ones in 9mm for target and 45 for HD. Not a bad gun for the price I paid. Definately getting at least a 9mm soon. The only thing I had trouble with is it came with one used mag and 1 new, the new one I can only get 14 rds in? I dont have one of them easy loader things I do it by hand, maybe it just needs broke in?

Glock mags are hard to load to full capacity, and I very rarely do. Down load them by one and they will insert much easier and the mag springs will last longer. If that bothers you, buy a +2 base pad and Wolf +10% magsprings.

I shoot Glocks in competition (17 and 22), carry them on my CCW (26 and 27), and keep them in my dresser (22). They are great weapons and super reliable, as long as you do your part. They hate "limpwristing" and the springs need to be changed every 5000 rounds or so for maximum reliability.

The 22 is a good all-around gun and my choice for my dresser gun (with a rail mounted light). I have a +5 basepad for it, so I have 20 180gr JHP's in the gun. If that doesn't do the job- I needed a rifle.:uhoh: I stick with the small frames (9mm, .40 and .357Sig) since a large portion of the parts are interchangeable. I tnd to mix and match parts to fit very specific needs- mostly for competition rules. I don't care for the large frame 20 and 21, but the 21SF feels pretty good.

Use the loader to get all the rounds in the magazine. Let it sit for a few days...you should be able to fully load it by hand.

But, it's much faster to use a Glock or Lula loader.

Heres is what I have now, I just ordered 2 more mags and some extras. New holster coming soon, thats all they had left at my local store but it works.

I have the 22 .40 and I outshoot the 1911's with it. its more accurate them my 1911 and my highpower 9mm. very nice gun. I carried it for a couple years, Ive converted to my colt 1911 though jsut for the stopping power and the trigger. not that the 40 doesnt have stopping power. I jsut like my 45

One thing you might want to try with sticky mags is to make sure that the pistol is cleaned, and to wipe down the mags and the inside of the mag-well with a cloth sprayed with Armor-All (the stuff they make for tires and interiors on cars); this really seems to slick them up.

Sold my Glock 22 a couple of years ago and still kicking myself for doing it. I'm sure another Glock will find it's way into my range bag again.

Although, I really love my XDs.
