shooting a marlin camp carbine without the buffer will result in a broken stock. Wait till you get a buffer..

As for the scope mount your rifle simply uses the same mounts as a marlin 336

If you want to have fun, Choate makes a solid folding stock for the Camp rifles and some Mec-Gar 20 round mags (S&W 59 series) will increase said fun.

you got a much underrated little rifle there; in my opinion, better than all the small 9mm carbines out there. If only they made giant mags for it...

I just got one also, in unfired condition, later model with 2 15rd SW 59 mags. I have not shot it yet, I am awaiting the new buffer par from BlackJack buffers. I also ordered a new spring from Wolff. I went into my favorite gun monger here in NJ (shout out to Butch's Gun World of Vineland) for a EBR of some sort, prob a Saiga .223 or ???? I saw this little camp on the rack and since I always wanted one, the great price and condition and the plethora of 9mm I have. It will be a great gun to plink with, coyote control and teach new shooters rifle skills with. Cant wait till the new buffer is in... I did not want to risk shooting it with a 13 yo buffer.

I had one and I'm of a differing opinion. I think guy's opine over them cause they're pretty compared to other 9mm carbines. But in terms of function reliability and quality even the Hi_Point 995 far surpasses the throw together parts bin design of the Marlin camp rifles.

That tiny little rimfire style bolt and recoil spring is nowhere nearly massive enough for a blowback 9mm.

thanks for the feed back guys, the marlin has been sitting in this guys safe since 2000, and i did notice a hairline crack on the stock in front of the magazine well next to the screw. do they still make the original style stock?

My Camp 9 is VERY accurate. Don't shoot it without a buffer. They are relatively cheap and easy to install. I bought two since the shipping was the same. You will be happy with it. Oh, S&W mags fit it very well.

My buffer in the camp carbine was also shattered when I got it. I made a buffer out of 1/4" nylon material. It works just fine.

I also have the Hi-Point 9mm carbine. Its a neat little rifle. Its also not for sale. If someone offered me three Hi-Points for for my Marlin the answer would be NO!!! This is the second one of these I have owned and I'm not getting talked out of this one.

update, took her to the range last sunday, put her through 100 rounds no problem hitting bowling pins @50 yards. all i can say is this thing is fun to shoot. picked up 2 30round clips, and gonna give her a fresh look will post more pics when shes done

What is a buffer pad ? Where does it go ? I have a Ruger 44 Magnum Carbine does it need one ? Many Thanks

deerhunter thanks, yeah found the courage to do the stripes myself used a propane torch real carefully

I wish Marlin still made the Camp 9. They were some nice rifles. A buddy of mine has one, its a pleasure to shoot.
