All fits like this:

Gear001.jpg

I'm not interested in traveling light, I'm interested in coming home. With good gear & a little experimentation you can comfortably carry all the above, & then some without looking like a ninja or being uncomfortable. But you actually have to put a little effort into it.

These days, Always:

Pistol
Holster
Magazines (2)
Magazine holder
Flashlight
Knife

Sometimes:

2nd pistol
2nd holster
2nd knife

But... "He's being vague," some will say. Yep, cause its me, not my gear, that will win the day.

YM,
How's running the light working for you from the appendix? Any issues? I run pistols there but have stopped short of trying a light. If I had a holster laying around to accommodate it I'd have given it a whorl by now, but don't as it turns out.
Thanks,
E

I'll try to get a pic up later.

What I carry every day:

-Keys
-Wallet with ID & CPL
-Eyedrops
-Folding knife (either a Kershaw Blur, or a cheapo Jeep knife)
-Cell phone
-Sig P226 9mm in IWB holster

At night, or in Seattle, I might carry a reload or two and a Surefire light, but that's if it's a full moon and I'm feeling nervous. I prettymuch avoid anywhere that I would plan on needing a gun in the first place, so I usually don't bring a reload everywhere with me. However, I keep 2 loaded mags in my car, so I'm never far from a reload.

Yammy Monkey, where did you get the belt you r wearing???? whats its Name rank and serial number, looks like a pretty tough dude

expvideo,

I agree with 99% of your post; hence the reason I travel light. However I carry an additional mag on my person since there have been documented instances of mag-induced stoppages, and since I carry a pistol with a seven-round mag. But at the risk of hijacking this thread, that may be the topic of another thread.

When I carried a .45, I would carry a second mag. I faced a situation once where if bullets had started to fly, which they almost did, those two mags would not have been enough and I probably would have gotten toasted. So yeah, I would recommend carrying at least 1 spare if you have a limited capacity like that. I have 15+1 in the gun, which is mostly the reason I bought it. It only takes one time facing something like that to completely change your perspective.

Erik- It works really well once you find the sweet spot that keeps the light from digging into your leg & still allows you to hide the grip. I'm using a Raven Concealment Systems Phantom with the wing attachment for their ACR. I picked up the Phantom before the ACR came out, but you can get an ACR for a gun w/weaponlight. I really like the RCS gear & so does my wife. She has one of the ACR holsters, but not for a light.

Mike2- It's an OSOE Rigger's belt. I bought mine from Tactical Response Gear. it's 1.75" but a lot of the 1.5" belt loops/clips work because the thing is much thinner than a leather belt.

Cell phone...with emergency recharger
CRKT M21-04 x's 2. Right front pocket and left rear pocket.
or I may carry my Emerson CQC-6 or CQC-11.
Leatherman Charge
Gerber Artifact tool (handy little bugger!)
Sig 226 .40 w/ 2 spare mags. Black Talons in all of them!
or I will carry my G19 in a shoulder holster with my G26 in the ankle holster.
Emergency stash of cash
Dorcy flaslight from Target....125 Lumens for $30.00...heck yeah!
Stashed in the car is a KelTec Sub-2000 in 9mm. Fitted for Glock mags and 3 G17 mags with it. Can thus be used to feed my handguns if needed. Or vice versa.
I have a jacket with lots of inside pockets and I carry most all of this on me. Bug out gear and "blow out" kit is stashed through out the jacket.
2 sets of handcuffs...for intimate moments! Love isn't the tie that binds...Its a half pound of cold steel that lasts for eternity!!!
hmmm...I really do carry alot of stuff!!!

I guess you're not allowed to edit after a certain amount of time but here's a picture

I go by the term "KISS". I CC a XD40 sub compact in IWB holster. Backup is a NAA380 with a standard 6 rnd mag in a ankle holster If I need more than 15 rounds, its time to leave the scene.

Glock G30 loaded with 2 mags of Federal +P's. Usually IWB in a leather slide. S&W 638 in an ankle rig loaded with 135 gr Speer +P's. Gerber Applegate Fairbairn Covert and a Gerber Firecracker LED.

EDC is usually:

-Keys on a carabiner clipped on the inside of my pocket
-Cell phone
-Gerber Paraframe clipped in other front pocket for everyday cutting jobs
-Wallet in back pocket
-SOG Twitch II clipped beside wallet or concealed on inside of waistband

If going out at night, I carry a Surefire G2 in Surefire holster on belt.

I still need to find a good OC holster for my Sig P6/225 though...

if IWB
PT1911 + Spare mag + MTAC Holster
Fenix T1
BlackHawk Razorback
W910 Cellfone

if Manpurse
PT1911 + 3 Spare Mags + Maxpedition Colossus
Fenix T1 + Spare Batts
Canon Digicam
BlackHawk Razorback + Leatherman
W910 + T68 Cellfone
First Aid Kit
GPS

Pic 1 is my on-person carry:
Wallet
Keys with Asp Palm Defender OC spray
Phone, T-Mobile Dash
Smith and Wesson "Special Ops" spring assisted folder
Surefire E2D with Comp-Tac holster
Walther P99AS 9mm
Spare 15rd mag with Comp-Tac holster

1000694ee3.jpg

Pic 2 is stuff I carry in my backpack:
First aid kit
Oakley Half Jackets
Garmin Nuvi GPS
iPod 80G
PSP
Headphones
Pouch with pens, highlighters, sharpie, etc
Another spare Walther mag
Gerber multi-tool
Stream-light Night Com
5hr energy
Lotion, eye drops, Axe
Lighter
Thumb drive
Retractable USB cord
Wall and auto USB adapters
All-weather notebook

Depending on temperature:
SA 1911 + 2 Mags in a paddle holster (or Galco leather for "BBQs")
or a FEG .32 and two mags in the pocket

On Belt:
Buck X Tract multi-tool
Cell Phone

In Pockets:
Pencil
Pen
Victorinox SAK Camper
Wallet

I highly recommend the Buck X Tract. Pure one-handed operation for all tools, the pliers are a bit small and weak compared to a leatherman, but that's about the only trade-off for the package. I like the lanyard loop / glass breaker on it as well :)

Always carry:
Sodbuster Jr, CV blade
Olight T10 Q5 (similar to Fenix P2D, but possibly tougher body...different reflector)
Notepad, Zebra F-701 all-stainless pen
Cell phone
Leather ID holder
Keltec P11 w/ Armalaser

Sometimes carry:
Orion K2 Caper, CPM 154 blade and Tiger Eye Maple scales
Gerber Suspension Multitool
Blackthorn walking stick

My EDC is layered.

In my LF pocket is a Mission Wallet w/ SAK (Vic Spartan), Leatherman Squirt E4, Peak 1xAAA LED, spare truck key and ID. RF is a Benchmade 940 locking folder and key ring. LR is my wallet w/cash, ID, credit/debit cards.

Then there's my EDC backpack. More of the same as in my pockets, but bigger, plus a good personal FAK, GPS, compass, liter of water and the main compartment is 90% empty so I can load up other stuff that may be needed.

Wherever I am, my truck is within a short walking distance, and even though it isn't carried, it's close enough. The truck has some of my camping gear and a duffel bag of cold weather clothing, boots, MRE's and a couple gallons of water. I needed to store it someplace and figured why not store it someplace where I can always get to it if needed. So there it is. . .

OK, I'll play...

Hopefully the pic will attach successfully:

At the very least, I'll have the Emerson (or another Emerson). The two items at the bottom (ASP, Polkowski pug) are "sometimes" items... rotating in on occasion if it seems like a good idea; for example, I always take the airweight ASP when we walk our dog–it would be my "breaker bar" (for opening a puppy perp's lockjaw) if I had to get the increasingly common unsupervised wandering bull terrier off my dog on a walking trail somewhere.

Of course, I reserve the right to rotate a K-frame 64 or 65 in to replace the 3-inch 36-1, or some other fixed blade for more "outdoorsy" pursuits, or whatever...
