At my bedside?

1911 45 acp. Secured? Not at all, but rather ready to be unleashed; sitting in the dresser drawer, an arms' reach away, in its pouch, in condition 1. It goes to the safe when I leave for work where it cannot go. A couple of flashlights close also. Phone in the bedroom on the wife's side of the bed - she'll call 911.

Unsecured handgun on night table, round in the chamber, safety ON. Next to that is a Surefire, and behind those two items is a cell phone. Sleep well. --Stork

My wallet with keys on top, cell phone next to it. G-19 in the drawer. Surefire G2 LED right next to the alarm clock.

Thinking of getting one of those electronic safes that you can unlock with your four fingers on top putting in the code. I don't trust myself with the gun on top the dresser, I leave it in the drawer. I've been known to sit straight up and hold entire conversations in my sleep so I'm a little wary of what else I might do with loaded and unsecured gun right next to my head.

In the drawer of my night stand sits flash light, 1 extra mag, G-23 and cell phone ALWAYS.

9 close to the bed hidden where only I know where it is. Cell and cordless phone beside bed with Surefire beside them.

Rack at foot of bed with S&W M21, S&W M22, Taurus M445, and Star Super .38 super.
All with reloads next to them.

CZ75B & a flashlight round in the chamber safety OFF

Remington 870 standing in the corner right next to the bed, with 4 in the tube (none chambered),
5 in a side saddle (all 00), flash light and cell phone on the night stand.

BTW, no children in the house, so the gun is unsecured and ready.

NO Small Children.

Right now:

-Three 15 round 10 mm Glocks with night sights
-One tactical fashlight
-One headlamp
-One tactical knife
-One AK with tactical light and laser

I should put a sign on the door. Something like:

If you are looking for excitement, come on in. I don't know how everyone will fare but one thing is for sure, the bullets will fly and there will be blood shed. If you're just looking to steal some stuff, the next house will be easier! I'm sure of it.

We have a biometric time clock at work that clocks you in and out via fingerprint, and it never works correctly. Maybe the safes are better, but I'd be nervous that I wouldn't be able to get my gun out in time if I needed it.

I live alone and in a very small apartment, so I keep mine in the bedside table drawer +1 (condition 1). If someone comes through my drawer I would need to bring it into action quickly. Eventually it will probably end up with a TLR-1 or something of the sort on it while not at the range or being carried. Cell is always on my nightstand while I sleep.

under my pillow

I keep my H&K USP 40 S&W under my pillow in a "Pillow Holster". It's padded and I never feel the weapon, just know it's there. If anyone is interested use Google and search "Pillow Holster". I have had it about a month and am very satisfied, wasn't really comfortable fishing around in a nightstand drawer if the need arose.

Maybe you are a more sound sleeper than I am, but I would much rather fish around in a nightstand that does not ever move than to fish around in a pile of pillows (although your wife may not put 900 pillows on the bed like mine does ) that may shift during the night, to find my pistol. I keep a 1911 with night sights in the same drawer, oriented the same way, with a Streamlight TL2 and a reload next to it. Nothing else in the drawer. I know exactly where it is no matter how disheveled the pillows get .

Surefire 6p, with my carry gun in it's holster on the bedside table under a towel (currently a Beretta 9000s).

If my daughter is here (shared custody) I'll either have the keys to the gun locker in the closet next to the light or the carry gun with a trigger lock in a box under the bed.

I use a 3-number combination lock that I set so I can open in the dark by just turning one dial.

I keep a Makarov between the matress and box springs.

On the headboard sits a Kahr CW40 with one in the chamber and an extra mag. There is also a Maglite sitting close by.

Faux electrical Cabinet

... in my walk-in closet is unlocked every night, re-locked every morning, (because I have little kids). The Mossberg 590 12ga eight shot is there for me, Mossberg 500 20ga five shot for mommy, and my eldest son's favorite Marlin 336 in 35 Remington is in there, and out in a snap.

That's the plan.

I just moved to the wonderfully colorful and slightly ghettoish Aurora, CO. That being said, there's an FNP-45 on the nightstand with an extra magazine, flashlight, cellphone. There's also a USPc 40 on the wife's nightstand.

Any more answers from those with small children? My son is moving out of his crib into a "big boy" bed soon and this is a big concern.

My daughter is 2 1/2, I used to keep my Millenium Pro under the mattress. Recently, I bought a honeywell fire/waterproof document safe. It was $19 at lowes. It slides right under the bed. the Key is under the Mattress. Not perfect, but better.

noone in our home but me and the commander general (fiance). we each have a condition one on our sides of the bed. we also have a very bright lamp that works as a spotlamp to shine on our door, and an upgraded 120 dB home alarm.
