yea i went to the local gun shop last week and a lot of things were gone. i notice the new .50 bmg display was gone, 5k and someone bought it. all their ar15's were pretty much gone too. i'm stocking up on ammo though. who knows what the price will be in a few weeks.

On the NRA, my friend sent in his membership (1st time) over 5 weeks ago. He had yet to get his card in the mail. He called the NRA and the membership processing center told him they were so flooded they were 9 weeks behind! :) :) :)

No it isn't over. It's just a pause to reload.

The gun show I went to today was packed.

I went to the show in Houston today and saw someone pay over $400 for a Yugo SKS in VG condition on two different instances  AK's were even worse. I also saw a Ljungman with a price tag of $1200 :what:

NRA is reporting a 49% increase in guns/ammo sales since the election.

It's not going to wane.

Not a chance. A local shop had a P38 that I had spotted last weekend. The owner was too busy with other buyers to bother at the time, so I went back three days later and caught a lull in the ebb and flow from his shop. But during that three-day period, the P38, according to the shop owner, was "long gone." This forced me to head down the road, where I picked up brand-spanking new PPS in .40 S&W. And yeah, I had to wait the counter there as well, hoping that someone else wouldn't ask for the Walther first.

It's a jungle out there, folks. And a busy one at that.

I put my AK on the market for "shiz" and giggles. I really want to keep it since it's set up perfectly for me, but I want to see how high someone might pay for it.

It is being delayed by the manufacturing process. Everything is backordered at this point. Whether or not the demand will stay where it is when the products hit the floor is unknown.

Excellent.

I got an e-mail ad from Cabela's saying they had lots of semi pistols - Glock, Beretta, - most standard brands.

Wonder what all those panicked guys with new ARs that they never had shot will do with them? Actually shoot them, train with them, use them in matches or wait for the 1st Luxembourg Paratroopers to come to their town and surround their house for the UN?

when they put their AWB legislation on the floor, then you'll see the "real thing"
No kidding! We haven't even had any looney toons starting their own militias, only to be arrested for stock-piling grenades and planning to bomb federal buildings.

Just wait and see. It will happen.

I went to the show in Raleigh, NC this weekend. The show got off to a slow start, but I blame the unuasually cold (for the south) weather. Towards the middle of the day, things did pick up, and I saw a few people paying prices for SKS's and AK's that would have been outrageous 6 months ago. I dont think its over quite yet.

Deals are good though I walked into a Gunshow and sold a $350.00 Ruger P89 for $550.00 and picked up a $600.00 Beretta Brigadier 96 elite for $450.00 Both were in ideal condition !!!

I filled out the selection I wanted and did it without paying through the nose. Every weapon I've bought in the last 6 months I've paid no more than the usual for.

Ammo on the other hand is a different matter. I resorted to topping off my 9mm and .45 at wally world since they had the cheapest factory ammo anywhere. It was even cheaper than the reloads I was buying.

As to what obama can do not only can he ban the importation of weapons from over seas he can ban the importation of ammunition.

That is where I think the gun grabbers will attack us. They don't have to worry about our guns if we can't afford the ammo for them.

Interesting times ahead I think... :cuss:

People seem to complain about the gun buying spree but the longer it lasts the better. Who cares if you now pay a 20% premium over what things cost a year ago. The more guns out their the better and the more gun owners the better.

I live in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale are where nothing is ever in short supply. Tons of ARs, especially M4 types, on the walls of gun shop and at the gun shows. It is good their are still brisk sales in other areas.

The gun show I attended last weekend was totally packed. I can normally walk in the door without waiting for much of a line...this time the line was out the lobby and around the corner of the civic center. What's more, everyone was coming out with something, either guns or ammo, whereas normally there are plenty of browsers there. Ammo was scare by the afternoon of the first day, particularly for popular handgun and rifle calibers. Anything AR- or AK-related, particularly accessories, were marked way up.

There were some great deals to be had on non-military-style rifles, shotguns, handguns, bolt-action rifles, and old milsurp rifles, and even on ARs if you kept your eye open. One big dealer had all their ARs at manufacturer MSRP, which was very surprising.

I visited two local gun shops on Friday, Roanoke Firearms and Sportsmans Warehouse. Roanoke Firearms had two ARs in stock (they normally carry at least 10-15) and Sportsman's Warehouse was cleared out of all the evil black rifles and all non-magnum pistol ammo and all 5.56mm NATO and 7.62x39 Soviet, which they normally stock in bricks on palates.

LOL... yeah right, its the dealer's fault!

Well, the latest email I got from Glockworld was really hyping their pre "change" deals on high-cap mags. And they offered Obama vs. assault weapons wallpaper. I think dealers are absolutely taking advantage of all the rubes out there, and to keep the gravy train running you gotta keep up the fear factor.

recent NC gun show was packed with waiting lines and 'still' inflated prices. more AR's than AK's by a wide margin and not many deals on ammo. the reloading folks were BUSY!

i am considering a second AK, more mags for both AR and AK and poss learning to reload...it'll take a bit..but they will try.
