Has anyone tried a Lone Wolf barrel in their Glock? I'm asking because I am just getting into reloading and discovered that the Glocks don't handle lead bullets very well, especially in .40 cal. Also, the .40 cal cases are prone to rupture if reloaded several times and fired out of the standard Glock unsupported barrel.

While looking at the Wolf site I noticed that besides being able to order a fully supported .40 cal barrel that would shoot lead bullets without fouling or stretching the cases, I could also order a barrel to easily convert the Glock 27 .40 cal to a 9mm. I'm not sure why I would actually want to do that if I could just get the .40 cal Wolf barrel and start shooting .40 cal lead bullets, but the idea intrigued me.

Any thoughts on or experiences with the Lone Wolf barrels are welcome.

Thanks,

Randy

Im gonna give you a little bump here, because I am getting ready to order one for my g21 also. My main reason is to shoot lead a little more safely. I have been doing it now, just not too much (maybe 100 rounds at a time).

I bought a .40 S&W LWD ported barrel for a G23. It was an easy "drop in" with no fitting and the chamber was noticably more supported. You can shoot lead bullets without worrying about leading up.
BTW, if you get a conversion barrel from .40 S&W to 9mm it is recommended you use 9mm magazines.

I have used Lone Wolf 9 mm conversion and 40 S&W replacement barrels for my Glock 22. With 250+ rounds through each, I have yet to experience a failure of any kind.

The .40 LW chamber is noticeably tighter, and the feed ramp leaves much less of the case unsupported than on the OEM barrel.

The 9mm LW conversion barrel has worked flawlessly with the original .40 trigger housing / ejector assembly; I've even run 9x19 through my 40S&W mags without FTF's.

One suggestion: the Lone Wolf logo etched into the barrel is kind of tacky--I think you can order logo-free barrels directly from the manufacturer.

I have a LW barrel for my G23, it has been flawless. I also had a case rupture in the factory barrel, resulted in a blown out extractor and a tingly hand. Found the extractor and all is well, and the LW barrel is back in place. I have spoken to the "MAN" at LW, very nice guy and I highly recommend their products.

Consider looking at KKM Glock barrels. Been very pleased with the KKM Glock barrels quality. Another brand I tried, not so much. I will just leave it at that.

I have a LW barrel in my Glock 23. It was a perfect fit with no fitting. It shoots great. I could do without the Wolf Logo though. Next time I will order without it.

I'm with you, Steve. That Wolf logo is just hokey--but you can order the barrel without the engraving (or just buy a Storm Lake)

I have a LW barrel for my G27. It works fine, and keeps the brass from expanding quite so much as the factory barrel. The logo is ugly, but no-one seems to notice that when I smoke them at the local IDPA match. :p
