I completed mine on TAX DAY (4/15) a few years ago.

I use STIMULUS CHECKS for ammo.

I did however buy a Saiga 12 soon after the election. Converting back to it's intended configuration is in the works, because trhat is my right. At least for now it is...

I went to my appt. at noon and the lady was very nice. I live in Allen Co. but I work in Auglaize Co. so that's where I went.

The class instructor stated that they have 55 days before they have to get them back to us and that they were running around 3 weeks in Allen Co.

The lady I spoke with in at the Aug. Co. Sheriff said that I may hear back in a couple of days and may have my permit in 7-10 days.

I guess it's better to go to a smaller Co. Sheriff's office because of their lighter work load.

Some of you may want to consider applying at a near by Co. Be sure to call ahead because I had to schedule an appt. It seems as if they are getting alot of request for CC since you know who took office.

I got a call today that I passed the background check and was scheduled to get mine on Friday at noon. :)

CCW

Hi,
I am in Georgia. I applied for mine in 2004 and got it. It took 16 weeks to get
it. They check you out. Mine expires in Aug. 2009, this year. The CCW is for 5
years.

I got my second handgun carry permit, a Florida one this time. I'm still waiting for it to come back, might be a few months, but my old permit will last me until then....

i REALLY wish i could get a CCDW but delaware is a pain to get alot of the people here that have applied got denied even after going through everything needed i guess its a good thing its an open carry state (for now at least) lets just hope that doesnt change

CCW

So far its a state thing. In Georgia, there is no class that has to be taken. You just walk in and start the application process. No appointment needed.
Here, you really get checked out. When they get done, they know everything
about you. A judge has the final say so. An open carry and CCW are the same
thing, in Georgia. I hear they are tweaking the process. They are going to start using some kind of computer finger print program for renewal.

I have had one since 1994 - why does this recent election make you suddenly want to be politically correct? You should get one when you are 21, or when you realize you want to preserve your Constitutional rights. Boast about that, not the last month or three. When did you become politically aware, or in favor of protecting the Bill of Rights? I think that is the more pertinent question.

I just turned 22 and had to put it off for one year because of money and workload from classes. The election just lit the fire under me to hurry up and take the class. I'm sometimes a procrastinator...

Starting my class tonight. It's a 6 hour class broken up into 2 nights. Normally they only have a Sunday class. Due to demand they started adding a class during the week. I asked about availability of the weekend class and he said they where booked all the way through March.

Well let's see. I got my NRA basic pistol instructor certification during the election. Was actually in Miami on the third day of class when it was announced Obama won. So towards the end of Feburuary and a little after I'll have my official paperwork and I'll get the insurcance and be teaching classes to help people get their CCWs.

I did, and my 21 year old son has just sent off for his. All three of my boys took the Florida CCW class, but two of them are still too young to CCW in Florida (you have to be 21).

So let me get this straight... You have two sons under the age of 21 who have taken the required FLA CCW safety training, and if they are 18+ they can carry some major firearms in the military... Does this make any since at all?

My son is 19 and in the Marines. He is allowed to legally carry in the state of Indiana, but strangely enough, he cannot purchase a firearm or ammo until he is 21. There always seems to be a disconnect between common-sense and firearm laws.

Why is it there always seems to be at least one :cuss: crab apple that jumps into every thread that's posted on this forum? Is this your definition of High Road? It seems to me that someone needs a nap! ;)

I got mine immediately before the election. I had one at 18, but let it expire. I'd forgotten about SD's two day waiting period for non-permit holders, and atempted to buy a S&W Sigma at a rediculusly low price (9VE, NIB, under $225 out the door) only to be told about the waiting period. I bypassed it by going to the Sheriff's office, and getting my CCW permit...10 bucks, a quick BG check, and back to the store I went! I was bound and determined that gun was coming home with me that day SOMEHOW LOL Either way, it feels good to have it again, and I've put it to use.
