Is it over? Haven't been on for a few weeks... well, not consistently anyways. Have the prices gone back down any?

From what I noticed, NO

Last time I was out, there were a few ARs on the tables/ shelves that were way overpriced. I think the market for plane jane ARs is about saturated. AKs, Sig 556s, XCRs were nowhere to be found.

il let ya know after the gunshow tomorrow.

lowers are still going quick, and uppers & kits are going as fast as they can off the line.

In pennsylvania its still bad, although Wal-Marts ammo is coming back from bare shelves and I mean bare. Gunshows coming up I will see how greedy the dealers are with what theyve got

Just purchased a NIB FN (FS)2000 for what they were selling for about a year and a half ago ($1800).

In fairness, my three favorite gun shops shelves were still low on numbers but all said business was slowing down (from a warp speed pace).

P7:)

I don't think so, yesterday I saw a line of SKS's all marked $449.99. Mostly new Yugos, but there was a stamped trigger guard, Norinco in there too! I remember several years ago thinking the $200 I paid for my Chinese SKS(not a Norinco) and 150 rounds was a little high !! This store also has new steel AK mags for $30, and a bin of used AR mags for $20. Oh yeah, and they were packed with customers.

I would say not entirely. I think that in a few more months people will realize that those that argued a ban was not immenent were right. Further one would hope that the huge stock up will have seriously curbed demand. We will see however things may not come down that much from where they are. I think it will largely be dictated by whether people buy or not.

Last I went to walmart and they had very little pistol ammo and no 9mm and like a box of .45 and a box of .40. I went to order reloading supplies from midway and they were sold out of various things I wanted. There are certain things that are still hard to find. I have not seen as much rediculous pricing on items that never would have been banned anyways though like handguns with mag capaity of ten or less bolt action rifles and pump shotguns. I dont know which made me shake my head more the blind Obama worship and his election or some of the reactions to it.

Not from what I can tell, I think it will get a little worse come tax return time. This is usually a big gun buying time. I also think we are stuck with prices the way they are for a while. At least until all the guns start showing up in pawn shops.

I've visited the nearest 3 walmarts here and they were all very low on ammo... no handgun ammo at all except for .357SIG (one Wal-Mart had a few boxes of .44mag). No .22 ammo (that one suprised me), and pretty low on rifle ammo. They were out of .270, .30-30, and I bought the last two boxes of .30-06 at one of them. Surprisingly, they seemed to all have at least some 7.62x39 and .223 (WWB).

Maybe this means that the "assault-weapons" side of the buying craze is slowing down (?). I don't know. Wal-Mart dudes told me that they get shipments in every week and it take about 2 days for the shelves to get to the point where I saw them. Prices had not gone up, as far as i could tell, from pre-election.

Oh yeah, the one Wal-Mart that still sells rifles were out out Mini-14's, Marlin 60's, and maybe a few others.

Went to a gun show here in Tallahassee last week. Romanian single action AK's were priced inthe 700 dollar range. Don't know if they sold any at that price but seems to me they were in the mid 200's not long ago.

I personally think this may be a lull in the storm. Come tax return, sprinkle a little "ban talk", let simmer in the overpriced market. Sounds like a recipe for some crazy mark-up.

Ofcourse my wife is making breakfast and it smells great. :what::what::what:

Thankfully, the panic pricing didn't really hit the shops that I frequent. One of them has put their FN SCAR on Gunbroker to see what it will bring, but I can hardly blame them with the stupid prices those those things are bringing. They have seversl ARs on the wall at their regular prices.

I've seen a slow down around here, but I'm convinced it is more due to the items in greatest demand being on backorder than it is a reduction of the demand itself. LGS has a good supply of used revolvers now though. Wish I had a good supply of cash:(.

It isn't over yet, but I don't know why. I have seen more AR's and AR parts at gunshows than ever. I saw a few less AK's than normal but they were still there. The mark up was ridiculous and no one bought them so I am not sure what the problem is.

Just ordered a Savage 93FVSS (22wmr, bull, stainless, bolt, syn stock) yesterday. Had to go to about 4 gun stores before it could get ordered. Factory was backlogged. Fortunately this dealer scoured his contacts and found one. Went to a new Sportsman Warehouse. They either weren't very well stocked yet, or were stripped out of everything.

The air will go out of the scare sooner than most people expect for a several reasons. 1) bad economy - people won't finish the purchase, 2) things seem calm on the legislative front, 3) people and businesses placed duplicate orders with different manufacturers. When they get delivery from one, they may cancel or delay the others.
