What AR-15 manufacturer?

Hey swing2hard where's the pics of that new Noveske/Magpul limited edition you supposedly got? I think it's just a rumor cause nobody can get those ......... unless you live next door to Noveske or something ............. NOT !!!!!

To be fair about this, from what I have heard so far is opinion and what an individual is used to, or has access to. But little facts are being presented. I know I am new to this site but my experience and love for the history and the rifle its self has brought me to many libraries and talking with many a users as well as any machinists. What I found is there are unnumbered amount of manufactures that make this weapon. Some have strong points some are weak. So to truly give a point with out turning it into a point of view I have to say it depends on the Day, How the person that is making the part feels that day as well as the mind set of the QA inspector on the line that day. I know what I like and depend on to defend my life and co workers, but what is good for me is not always good for others. In closing a stock weapon in any form or Manufacture is in no way a good choice. Taking it down to the last spring and pin to see what is there and then building it and replacing what is machined wrong as well as plenty of range time and experience is the only way to know if the weapon will work for you when your life depends on it.

build a mut AR. ya get every single thing ya want that way. and you get to say you built your rifle. ha
And If you do buy a Colt you are not jsut paying for the name.

I've had Bushmasters, Colts and DPMS rifles. Other than the ones that had 20inch barrels I couldn't say which one shot the best, most were 16 inchers and one was 10-1/2. They all functioned correctly and were fairly accurate. If you want something to plink with it doesn't matter what name brand it is or who put the parts together, if it for protection it only needs to be reliable, 1/4 inch 10 shot groups at 100 yards are not needed with one of these rifles. One that will shoot a 2 inch group at 100 yards is great, most will do a lot better. If I need to put an eye out I’ll use my 700LTR, if I need a combat rifle I’ll grab an AR or a Mini 14, yes I said Mini 14, I know ya’ll like ‘em too! :D

Noveske is the finest built AR. If you have not handled and shot one I suggest you do. But they are not cheap.

:)

I own a bushmaster - I think it's called an xm-15? Anyways, I purchased it during the ban years. So it doesn't have a bayonet lug or flash supressor or whatever other evil feature was non-pc at the time. I like it and have no complaints. It's always worked and shot fine.

One thing, that may have changed and if I recall correctly, when I was looking at black rifles... (wow this sentence is overly complicated) that colt uppers only fit with colt lowers due to some pin in the receiver sized differently?

So...if you have non-colt ar's then you may want to stick with non-colt ar's due to the flexibilty to swap out uppers etc. Or, if it's easier to get colt uppers in your area then you may want to stick with a colt.

Otherwise, black rifles are like lego's...if you don't like your configuration that week, get a new piece and snap it to it.

My DPMS DCM will hold about .75MOA, keeps me in at least the top ten, and hasn't had a malfunction yet. But keep in mind it gets used almost exclusively for High Power matches and the occasional coyote or red fox. But I suppose that's more of a purpose built rifle.

The DEA did testing for an agency issue service rifle a couple of years back, from memory they had about 15 companys tender , after completing the operation and torture testing only 2 rifles passed. rock river won the contract. guess maybe that says something. my ten cents

Colt, LMT and Noveske are the best ARs. good luck finding any.

CMMG is entry-level professional grade

Stag is the best of the home-defense weapons

olyarms, DPMS, and bushmaster are plinkers
Just curious, you made all these assertions based on what? You've had experience in all these scenarios, with all these brands?

wow,,,,, i can't believe no one has said a word about the remington ar,,,,i handled one of them a week or so ago and it had a good feel to it,,well balanced,,solid,,,,,,,it was definitely talking to me

did i miss something????? guy at the toy store said most people don't like the camo,,,,but i didn't notice it to be repulsive,,,i thought it looked kinda nice

Stag,Rock River,Bushmaster,Colt. All good and the only ones I can speak from expierence on. Do not know where pricing is currently but Stag was a good buy not that long ago.

Well, I happen to own a Bushmaster. It is the Dissipator model, I have had 0 problems with it. I have shot the hell out of it! I'm not bragging but it does work as advertised. I have shot others as well. These would include Colt's,FN,Bushy's,Oly's. It seems that they all worked the same to me. Just my opinion..

What are you going to use it for?

If you want a carbine that is going to run for days with minimal maintenance then MAYBE it is worth it to pay extra for a Colt or Noveske. If you are not a professional you are probably going to be perfectly happy with a Smith & Wesson M&P for a few hundred less though.

If you are looking for a target rifle then a Rock River A4 Varmint or a Stag 6H would be hard to beat in a factory rifle. I shot the group below today with a Stag 6H at 100 yards. You could spend a lot more money and not get any better performance. I’ve heard lots of very good things about Olympic Arms barrels and a barrel is arguably the most important part of a target rifle. The Oly rifles are probably going to be the best bang for the buck for a target rifle.

I've said it before...I'll say it again.I've got a Bushmaster and it runs fine!I know the Colt fanboys hate bushmaster.(maybe it's a real deep hatred that Bushmaster won that court battle...but that's another story)either way...if you are gonna spend "Colt" money on a rifle...get a SA M1A.Better ballistics, more reliable, more accurate.
Again...the truth is a terrible animal.

I have to disagree.
Each company has different weapons, some are plinkers some are not. There really isn't one company who builds just a plinker rifle.
If costs an issue get in contact with Del-Ton and get a build kit.
If cost isn't an issue.
I personally love LWRC rifles. I also like Charles Daly. I own both of them and they are by far the best performing AR I have owned. And I currently own 11 AR's
And I have to agree with the statment about the M&P15. Got one of those and love it. Most of my builds use a M&P lower
