I always wanted to own a Winchester 94 Trails End in 357Mag. But since Winchester discontinued the production they´re nearly impossible to find here. Sure there is the Marlin 1894C, no question a good rifle.
Would the Rossi 67M be a good choice for some fun shooting when there is no original Winchester to find. Any other suggestions?

Gun stores around here all have a dozen or more Winchester 94 rifles. .357 magnum is not the most common caliber, but it is to be had. I'm surprised they're rare even in Germany.

Duke,

Out of curiosity, why do you find it interesting that they are rare in Germany?

Because the Winchester 94 is the most popular, longest-produced rifle in American history, and is found around the world. Servicemen brought them to Germany for decades.

The Winchester 94 is also a 30-30 length action, and not the best choice for pistol-length rounds like the .357 Mag.

That would be the Winchester 1892 action length.

The only reason Winchester even made 94's in pistol calibers is because they were scrambling to sell anything that would save the company from bankruptcy.
And they couldn't afford to tool up to make the 92 in America again.

As such, the 94 in pistol calibers is a make-do deal.

If you want the best currently available .357 Mag lever-gun, that would be the Marlin 94.

The Puma / Rossi clones are O.K., but they are not as nice as a Marlin, and like the Winchester 92/94, make cleaning from the rear of the barrel impossible.
